Given that it is a remote satellite, which must be accessed by people mover after checking in at the existing terminals, it may very well be that there are no lounges in the satellite, or else only for connecting passengers.

I wouldn't automatically assume that the existing Skyteam lounges in the existing terminal - which all PVG originating passengers will still be able to access - are being "moved" to the satellite.

Apparently check in will remain in the main terminal but in this article they say that premium pax can enjoy the view from the terrace at the new china eastern lounge

Given the vast size of the new satellite it would seem likely there will be at least one lounge there

Interesting. Im scheduled on AF PVG CDG on the 26th. Im really not a fan of the current lounge infrastructure at PVG, so anything new could be attractive. Ill report back.

Its indeed not difficult to do better than the current lounge in PVG. We look forward to read your report

Due to some changing travel arrangements Im now flying back on KLM instead of AF. Is the change also relevant for KL?

"China Eastern, Shanghai Airlines et leurs partenaires Skyteam dont Air France et KLM utiliseront le ct sud du nouveau terminal qui ouvrira ses portes donc mi-septembre"
This means that all Skyteam airlines will go to the new satellite

Quick update here: flying KL896 from PVG today in J. Just cleared security and was sent to the usual pretty horrible MU lounge 36, and boarding from regular gate 20.

Some guys behind me at security were flying Delta and had to take the people mover to the new satellite, which apparently also features a business lounge.

So the new satellite is open, but there doesnt seem to be clear consistency on ST departures in Terminal 1 for now just yet.
