Yes that is of course possible

But you're located in Seattle, which is still in the USA AFAIK.

As noted I am in the EU at the moment.

KLM WhatsApp support tells me they see my original seats. AF website says I have no seats. KLM resent my seat receipts, so I guess I will just move on and hope those seats are mine when I check in.

I use Garudas website to check and change seats in those situations.

If you are in the EU, then you should call the EU number. If you are in NA, outside the USA (e.g. Canada, Mexico), then call the NA, outside USA number. If you are in the USA, call the USA number.

KL and AF are the same company.

Quick update.

I called the Air France Netherland support # (which appears to be the main KLM line as well). This time support answered within a minute and I got a very helpful agent. She saw that I had indeed paid for seat selection but that the system had dropped them for some unknown reason. She was able to get me back to my original seats.
