[Infographic] Air France J class retrofit program, WiFi and service vs OAL
Dear FTers,
I have been working for a couple of weeks on a detailed infographic dedicated to Air France Business Class long haul product, and I tried to address the following topics:
Please note that it’s published in French, but I think it’s pretty self-explanatory. Article: https://blog.flight-report.com/fr/in...a-concurrence/ Infographic: https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...aa3c725caa.jpg @Moderators Considering its cross-topic, I think it deserves its own post, but if you feel that it’s should fall in an existing post, please do so. |
Thank you!
Just watched the video about the Optima seat. Just amazing! Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than Cirrus. Are you telling us that AF will retrofit the COI fleet with this superior seat and keep taking in new planes equipped with Cirrus? |
Great infographic! I don't speak french yet I was able to understand the contents completely. Since this analysis is tailored to AF, it might be helpful to increase the scale of the AF tail so it is a bit more prominent and easy to find?
Again, very nice job. |

Again, very nice job. You can click on the infographic to enlarge it (or here: https://blog.flight-report.com/wp-co...oncurrence.jpg) |
Thanks, I was referring to the ability to increase the scale of the AF tail, to make it larger than the others so it is easier to see relative to the competition.

Understood, very good, thanks again.

I thought all the 777s were moving to CIRRUS? Oh well

Thanks OP for sharing.
Long is the way to become the leader in the industry as expressed by AdJ. The time to retrofit the cabin is appalling. Like they did not learn the lessons of the NEV fiasco. Yet KLM manage to do it properly so AF alone is to blame. |

Long is the way to become the leader in the industry as expressed by AdJ. The time to retrofit the cabin is appalling. Like they did not learn the lessons of the NEV fiasco. Yet KLM manage to do it properly so AF alone is to blame. The most striking example is the A330s that were due to be fitted with the Cirrus seats shortly after the 777 program was completed, but at last minute, someone said that those seats take too much space in the cabin and that they should think about a new seat with a higher density layout. Not only did they loose 1 year and half because of that decision, but they also end-up with a new seat that will add unconsistency accross the fleet and without full access. But at the same time the airline prefers to invest into chatboots or Joon...talk about priorities |
I am more shocked by the 777 example as it is the backbone of their long haul fleet.
Not only it took years to retrofit them but they also decided to order new aircrafts with the old J seats in 2-3-2 they send from time to time to premium destinations (hello SIN or NRT). The dumbest decision ever. Even flying CIO aircraft in J is a better experience to these birds as the cabin contains only 14 seats. And now (better say tomorrow) they will retrofit CIO 77W - very good news, at last - with superior seats than everything else  Not to mention the A380, which is supposed to be their flag ship. |
