C catering from CDG to AMS, from AMS to GOA and back to CDG

Breakfast on AF from CDG to AMS (arrival at 09:40) 😐

Lunch with KLM by Cityhopper (arrival at 13:25) 😞

The dessert announced on the menu did not seem to make it onboard

Dinner with HOP! pour Air France (arrival at 21:05) 😃

Icing on the cake ;), the Chef de Cabine onboard AF1317 was delightful and provided a most elegant and courteous service, making this flight one of my top 10 flight experiences with AF. Finally, the Deutz was quite decent, while the red wine provided by Cityhopper was utterly undrinkable.

NB - plastic glasses and cutlery with Cityhopper
- real glasses and metal cutlery with Air France and HOP! pour Air France

Groupe Air France at their best indeed!!

The KLM food is most depressing but the AF food is not looking too tempting either. When this kind of ticket can cost hundreds more than coach, it is enough money to buy a jar of caviar and a fancy cake on the way to the airport.

Crumbs, I thought you had been to India with that KLM offering, but now I know GOI is Goa airport. Nice offering from AF, very well done.

Indeed, the pictures are self-explanatory :)

OT - but I was relatively surprised with my AF codeshare flights operated by UX (CDG-VLC and back). Being a way smaller airline, I was not expecting anything better than AF/KL on Business, and well, I was very much surprised.
First picture is breakfast on the first flight - warm food! scrambled eggs with vegetables and an amazing Catalan cream.
Second meal on the return flight was not warm, but the salad was really great and tasteful.
...and they don't have slim seats on their 737s...

I keep giving comments / feedback on food on short haul flights in J, but I have no hope there will ever be any improvement. I don't think there should be more food, but sometimes the quality really feels low.

That looks nice indeed (UX) and I agree on the generally speaking poor quality of food served in business class, even though I think that both Austrian and LOT have a somewhat above average product in that respect, particularly the former, where I normally get a decent hot meal on my regular short hops between Vienna-Sarajevo/Pristina (a nice touch especially on the evening flight when you hadn’t had chance to eat in the lounge and you’re basically just after work), Air France has also recently improved (e.g. more variety).

When I flew more from LIN, I appreciated the C class meals that AZ provided on flights to LHR/LCY, but it was quite some years ago. I wouldn't be surprised if the service had been worsened nowadays.
I agree AF has slightly improved on variety, but quality is often low, and if you're connecting to 2F, there's not really better food on the lounge (and that's depressing). I appreciate more the variety you get in the new 2G Lounge (warm quiche slices ftw!), but that terminal really feels awful so for destinations served at 2G I often prefer to connect though AMS.

Your last assumption is correct, the service has gone significantly downhill (don't get me wrong, nothing really different from the average in Europe, apart maybe -and as I said above- from OS/LO and I see some very mouthwatering pictures on the A3 forum) and that's a shame because during the EY days the catering had seen a marked improvement and there was more variety in terms of choice (not only food but also wine to name a couple). As we speak, it's only either panini cheese/mini omelette and a ghastly croissant for breakfast and, after that, just lasagne (with so much 'cheese' on top enough to justify a blood test as soon as you step off the plane) or tortelloni (slightly better, but still appalling considering the high standards in Italy). That aside, I fully agree on the lounge offering's bit.

Sad :-( One of the few improvements that EY management did was exactly that. Anyway, those days are totally gone.
Yesterday I was shocked by the ridiculous KLC catering on the rather short flight AMS-DUS - a little box with with one sandwich (same given in economy on normal routes) a bottle of water and a cookie.
I understand that for a 40 minutes flight there's no time for proper catering, but not even offering any drink on C class was particularly sad.
