AF GVA security

In two weeks, I'll be flying for the first time from GVA to CDG (normally on the KLM flights...). I understand there's a "French sector" at GVA, from where AF operates.

How much time should I count on for clearing security and getting to gate there, for a Friday 17:00 departure? Would arriving at 16:00 be cutting it too close? Thanks for advice!

Yes, arriving 1h in advance is perfectly ok (if you don't need to check baggage). I do it routinely. Security in the french sector is separated from the main security area. So queue size depends only of the number of aircrafts leaving to France. I had a check and there is an Easyjet at 16:30, your flight at 17:00 and an other Easyjet at 17:30. So probably something like 15min max of queue (probably less). Gates are then a 15 seconds to 1 minute walk from the security area.

Even if you have luggage to check in, one hour is fine as most AF pax will have checked in already.
The bottleneck is security, but they will make you move ahead if you are checked in and your flight is near departure.
