I start to believe airline catering manager are not trained in cultural diversity and inclusion.
Not to be too unduly provocative - if I can freely purchase and consume booze and pig in Cairo, then why shouldn't I be able to do so on a plane flying to Cairo? It seems to me that the spirit of cultural diversity and inclusion would permit me to do so.

Uggh, Alcohol yes, Pork, not so easy. One would either have to pay 10-20 times the normal cost for German type sausages or Charcuterie from one of maybe 3-4 specialist importers in the entire country (or perhaps in one or two special places that resell from them), or one would have to go to a Christian neighborhood and buy from them, in which case you may have heard that the government had pretty much every pig in the country slaughtered.

In any case it is the airlines. especially AF that did not serve pork on these routes. The BA Bacon butty is nota good example as 1) it is BOB, and 2) I have never been on a flight that has more than 2-3 of them stocked anyway!

Wasn't really my point. In my own inadequate way I was trying to point out that very often political correctness makes us the laughing stocks to the people whose sensibilities we are trying to protect. Personally I never met a muslim that didn't secretly enjoy a bacon sarnie. Actually I am married to one.

I do recall the slaughter of the pigs, I was here. It was a droll way of combating swine flu......

Seriously?? They are basically going to cut Europe down to being Joon only except for maybe a couple of key high frequency routes, like LHR or GVA, have HOP ! for domestic flights, and Air France mainline for longhaul. The germanwings-ization of Air France. Sad to say, that whole strategy seems to be working out for Lufthansa, much as I dislike the whole 4U/EW concept.

I am wondering whether all the JOON FAs are under Joon contract or whether many are leased by AF?

Lufthansa flies mainline on all hub and spoke routes. EW/4U are point to point. Joon is following a different path (I hesitated writing strategy but this is Air France, the word does not make sense).

Indeed, the model of Eurowings is somewhat different as they don't fly to FRA, but they do have a base in MUC with short and longhaul flights. Their model is closer to LCC.

Have many of AF FAs been transferred under Joon contracts? That seems surprising as Joon contracts seemed less attractive.
Or are these mostly recent recruits?

Thanks.
AF must have stopped all PNC recruitment, at least for short/medium haul. Recruitments go either to HOP or to JOON. My guess.
