Constructive Criticism of La Premiere

The trip outwards was similar to yours (apart from my treatment at MAN which was unsurprisingly bad) - I too had the wonderful beef and even more wonderful Baba. We got held up in traffic in the Jaguar too so I got to enjoy the car, and the brilliant escort, for much longer than normal. I think she did it on purpose
For the journey back to MAN I was booked on FlyBe. It was parked remotely and was driven there as normal but there was a delay while some elderly pax were being unloaded. As I sat in the lovely Jag for 20 minutes waiting to board I noticed the poor lambs in the transfer bus and several of those people pointing at me wondering who the heck I was. When it came time to board of course I was taken up first... then I had the embarrassment of all the other pax coming on and staring at me in case I was some VIP I must have looked a state as I still felt quite poorly...

Yeah, CIP lounge it was. I didn't like it in there at all, it's a boring place and the food was utterly bad. I'll use the Qantas lounge next time.

If it is before, you have the best coming up, but after...

Mind you, at least it's on a separate ticket, on a single ticket, finishing your P trip on a Hop! (and possibly soon Transavia!!!) flight from ORY would arguably be meh...

OMG. It is my favourite dish on the menu.
Tastes just as good as at his Champeaux bistro.

The amount of truffle seems so different between the two pics taken at the lounge. I would have thought that the recipe is super precise about how much of each ingredient should be used.

the second pic (with the lovely looking huge truffle shavings) is the odd one out. For one thing it seems to present the coquillettes in one of Ducasse’s cookpot which is a bit odd and not intended. I suspect someone in the P lounge found our friend SFO777 particularly nice and decided to add some generous truffle shavings to the serving! I certainly wouldn’t have said no even if it upset the precision of the recipe!! 😉

Wonderful trip report Goldorak.
One quick question: did you get the buggy from the lounge to the plane in HKG?
I really dislike that CX does not provide buggy for their F pax (even revenue), while they do for CX DM elite members (even in Y).

Thanks for the great report! My next La Première flight is in exactly one month from now and I can't wait .
That would explain why I am regularly turned down when I try to purchase the ground services option when flying business class. That's usually the answer that La Première line is giving me. I wonder if it's because they indeed have high loads in P, or if there are more people aware of the ground services purchase option and it just fills up that way.

I've never seen the lounge full. First thing in the morning is understandably empty but I've been in there around lunch and dinner times and the most I've seen in there was around 12 people. On my last outward in P 2 of the 4 pax in P didn't even go in the lounge - I suspect they were last minute opups....
.. which leads me to; I'm in J going to HND next month, if I'm offered a decent priced upgrade to P (which I'm likely to accept if offered at less than EUR2000) at OLCI will I get ground service? Starting in MAN.

Most likely. Last time I purchased the upgrade at the ticket counter just before my flight, and I was even escorted to the La Premiere check in area and got the whole ground service experience.
