AF 787 : maiden flights on sale (January 7th/8th)

AirFrance has finally released the tickets for the maiden flights of their 787 on January 7/8th :)

French link here: http://www.airfrance.fr/FR/fr/local/...tsrc=socialads

There seems to be still quite a few tickets (249€ in Y, 349€ in W, 787€ in J). The booking systeme is way better than for the 747 last flights!

Perhaps because there is much less demand for these tickets...

Looking at the available seats, the demand seems to be pretty good though.

Is it just me or the tickets are quite expensive for what it is ?

[Joke] Do we get miles and QF for the flight ? :D [\Joke]

Yes, the Tour de France is almost sold out now.

But the others have some ways to go yet.

Incredibly expensive. Last year, KLM's introductory 787 flights were €149 and even that struck me as quite high.

You can maybe justify such a fee if it's an "end of an era" flight, as with the 747 flights of last January. But whatever novelty surrounded the Dreamliner should have dissipated by now.

And no - I don't think you will earn miles for these flights. A CDG-CDG flight would earn 0 miles, anyway, by definition!!! :D

Well, maybe a little less. But mostly you can book online, and not have to call a phone number that never responds and does not have a queue :)

Probably not, indeed :(

There's a phone number to call if you are originating in the French provinces, the UK, Spain, Switzerland, Germany or Italy. [I wonder how much they charge for the connecting flights. At these prices, they should be free!!!]

Presumably their KLM counterparts in the Netherlands are excluded due to their own 787 intro flights last year :D

At least now you can book a specific flight timing. If it'd be 250E including a flight from AMS, I'd go but this is a bit too expensive. Strange NL is excluded from the connecting offer though.

Booking engine mentions: Ce vol n'est pas éligible au crédit de miles Flying Blue.

I will be in :)

I'll be on the Sunday morning flight over Brittany. Anyone else?

I think that anyone willing to pay €249 to spend an unnecessary 2h30 in the horrible Y middle seat of a 787 to go absolutely nowhere should be urgently referred to a mental health specialist.

The pricing is terrible :td:

I sincerely hope they organize a maiden flight for the A350 and they will sell the J seat at 350 EUR. Much more affordable.

The KLM flight lasted just one hour, this one will last 2.5 hours
