LHR - CDG - HKG La Premiere
I will be flying Air France for the first time in La Premiere. I think I understand the ground service in CDG but does anything different happen in LHR and HKG? Also will I have access to the La Premiere lounge whilst waiting for the return LHR flight?

On your return, yes you'll have access to the P lounge during your transfer.
Enjoy
PS : I hope you have long connections !

Departing from LHR, once you'll be identified as a P pax at check-in, you should be escorted through security and to the Skyteam lounge in a semi-private area. Disembarking in CDG, you'll be met by a P agent in the jetway and be driven to the P lounge by limo. In HKG, you'll be met also on arrival by an agent (unfortunately a contractor but that's OK) and be escorted to baggage claim and arrival hall.
On your return, yes you'll have access to the P lounge during your transfer.
Enjoy

That's quite different on the outbound as you will enjoy a long visit of the P lounge at the early stage of your trip when you are still fresh and minimize the risk of missing your longhaul flight.

I had a great experience of AF P arrival in HKG (6 years ago). We were a group of 4 in P and 5 in J, all connecting to QF J to SYD. I enquired the contracted escort agent about making sure we would all be sat on the same deck of QF 747. As a result, the 9 of us got upgraded to QF F. That's was massive op-up!

Frankly, after getting from your hotel to HKIA in the evening, then spending a couple of hours at the airport and its ST lounge, then 13 hours in the plance, I doubt that you will look forward to a long connection to LHR just to enjoy another meal in The P lounge before another short flight, clearing immigration in LHR, etc... If your HKG-CDG is late and AF can rush you to take the first flight to LHR rather than spending 3 hours in P lounge for the second flight of the day, then I would not hesitate an instant.

Incidentally, does one get a greet at MAN as one would at LHR? The lounge experience in MAN T3 is basic at best as it's a contracted one (Escape).

I'm in the CDG P lounge now about to get a spa treatment. (not-so-humble-brag)

Maybe not a very long connection on the return, but some might like a nice massage or facial after a long flight. Then again a long flight in the new P isn't such a chore. And LHR immigration isn't that bad if you have an assist and/or can use the E-gates.

Currently AF185 arrives at 5:55 (5:35 in winter time) and AF1680 departs at 07:30, so no massage. You would have to wait for AF1580 departing at 10:10. But that's also a busy time to book as many longhauls arrive early morning. And 4 hours in the lounge would be far far too much for me.

Never experienced it, but at 99% the answer is no. At "secondary stations" the protocol is simplified. Once you will be identified as a P pax at check-in, the AF station manager on duty will be called. He will enquire about any need you may have, but then you'll be on your own. If he/she is going above the minimum (which may happen), he/she will escort you through security to the lounge and maybe will escort you personally to the plane and introduce you to the crew (but again, not guaranteed).
Thanks Goldorak, as I suspected. T3 at Manchester is not even as good as a secondary station, more like a neglected shed at the end the garden, it's dreadful.

I'm hoping to do a full trip report in Community/Trip Reports when the time comes. Never done one before so I hope that I meet everyone's expectations there. The time in Japan is almost 3 weeks so I'll try to condense that part of the trip into a couple of posts; don't want to bore the readers
