Yep, it's closed. As well, KLM flights now use the same terminal as AF because the other one is undergoing renovation (gates?).

...and no vouchers offered. Only P PAX get a voucher for coffee and snack. :td:

MAD T1 Cibelles

Effectively this lounge is open for AF pax , thus it's a non-schengen terminal, I believe it's for codeshared flights (UX? SU? AR?) Samefood offer tha Puerta del Sol, not so cosy and nice view.

There are also several sandwiches (tramezzini type), as well as sweet and savoury snacks (cookies, donuts, muffins, olives, chips, peanuts, etc).

There's a wide array of alcoholic beverages (not of the best quality, though) and a bar (without a bartender, though).

Moderators : there is something strange in the wiki : the end of the Europe section is not appearing anymore (from the last spanish airports, but there are 2 UK airports still appearing but in Spain...). So we're missing end of Spain, switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine and most of UK). But when you edit the wiki, all the text is here and normal !!
What's happening ? Is there some FT technicians we can alert ?
I have saved the missing text on my computer just in case...

Update 17/03 : problem corrected. Saraoutou has identified that the link was the source of the problem.

PS : Am I the only one who experienced bugs/problems on FT since 3-4 days (site not responding, loosing your entire post when you click on submit , etc)

AF Lounge in Nouakchott

There is an AF lounge in Nouakchott, Mauritania, accessible to AF business class passengers. I believe it is accessible to economy class passengers with appropriate FB status.

Thank you and welcome to Flyertalk :)
Is it really an AF-branded lounge ?

AF lounge in NKC

Yes, the identity sign is the AF logo, There are no identity signs for other airlines using NKC. Only AF passengers are allowed entry (access voucher provided by AF check in desk). Passengers on other international flights (not part of skyteam e.g RAM and TK) are not allowed access. It is only open four evenings a week corresponding to the AF flights to CDG. When involuntary rerouted twice on TK metal during the recent AF pilots strike it was closed.

It is small with seating for about 24 people. Only soft drinks, tea and coffee are offered along with some biscuits. There is a newspaper/magazine rack, pure French in content, except for the Economist. However, it is a haven from the NKC airside departures area which can be extremely crowded and hot with extremely poor facilities. I have been traveling the CDG-NKC-CDG route for up to seven times a year for almost four years.

A new airport is under construction to the the north of NKC and it will be interessting to see what level of facilities will be provided.

https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8784/...ce7ae661_z.jpg

Air France lounge (renovated)- New York JFK T1

Name of the lounge: Air France lounge – New York JFK Terminal 1

Location: terminal 1 airside, on the far right after security

https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7662/...39d1bfbb_z.jpg

I had a very quick visit this week into the renovated AF lounge in JFK T1. Very quick because I was stuck in crazy NY traffic. Fortunately, I did OLCI and had only carry-on because otherwise, I was outside the allowed check-in time…
I wanted to see the new lounge and, as the boarding of my flight was delayed by 15 minutes, I used this to rush in the lounge, to see how it looks like and take some pictures !

Opening Hours: from noon to 11 pm

Entry requirements: usual AF rules. There is a possibility of paid access.

The registration desk is now on the right when you enter and there are some seats where the registration desk was previously located.

https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7659/...4bfcdb70_z.jpg

I found the renovation pretty good and for sure, there are many improvements on the food offering side (see pictures below)

https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7676/...77b1160d_z.jpg

https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8741/...5e9cbc4b_z.jpg

Food offer: good choice of salads, smoked salmon (excellent, I could not resist : I tried it with some Champagne), cheese, sandwiches, cold cuts, cold chicken, several kind of soups, warm pasta and rice meals. There is one full buffet on each floor.

Drinks offer: same as before but still very good : champagne, red and white wines, liquors, soft drinks, water, juices, coffee (another improvements with Nespresso machines !!!!)

https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7719/...fc37518a_z.jpg

Services
Wifi: yes (free, password required). But, this is a non-improved thing, the wifi is still as poor as before. I think their network is so saturated that it’s almost not working at all. Really a pity for one of their flagship lounge in their most important outstation.
Showers: Yes
Toilets: yes (inside the lounge)
Quiet zone: no, but there is a seperate private ę quiet Ľ room for P pax, with a different food offering (ordered from a menu). I had a look from the outside to this reserved P room, but I didn’t take any picture for the privacy of pax who were in. But we have some pics, including of the specific food offering, in the trip report linked in the wiki of this thread.
Loungers/sleep area: no
Business area: yes
Spa: yes (2 Clarins spa cabins, booking to be done at the lounge welcome desk)
TV area: several TV screens (mute sound)
Passengers are called: yes (boarding announcements). But, among new things, when they have to page a pax, they don’t call him/her anymore by a speaker announcement, but there is an AF agent who’s going through the lounge with a sign showing the name of the pax (see below). Good thing to ensure more quietness.

https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8727/...cc456720_z.jpg

Information screen: yes
Newspapers: yes, quite a large selection of French and international newspapers and magazines

Other information
Number of seats: always hard to say unless you have the precise information available somewhere, but I would say 150 ( ?)
Level of noise: OK, despite the large number of people
Design: very nice and brand new. It has always been one of my favourite AF lounges and is full of souvenirs for me (including Concorde…)
Multi floors: Yes (2)
Terrace: no
Smoking area: no
Direct boarding: no

I don't think so, I believe that the dragoon hold the menu from the restaurant which is quite in front of the lounge and order what you care.
