I've updated the wiki for the YVR lounge with a link courtesy of Globetrekker35's excellent trip report: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trip-...s-yvr-cdg.html

Does anyone have experience with lounge access on op-up from W to J (free upgrade) ?
For example, if a transatlantic leg is upgraded at check-in, do I get lounge access at the departure airport ? Connecting to a all-Y domestic flight in CDG, can I use the J arrival boarding pass to access a lounge ? Not implying that AF have to in anyway, but that would be nice ! |

But how can you know that you will have a free op-up at check-in counter ?
Which was all in vain since east cost weather and LGA ground hold made me miss that flight... |

I checked-in at T-30, picked a seat in W. I went back about two hours later to check if alternative seats were available and found that my seat was now in business. Passbook boarding pass updated to reflect J class and new seat.

BCN Terminal 1 – Salon VIP Pau Casals
Name of the lounge : BCN - Salon VIP Pau Casals
One of my favourite lounges in Europe. https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5737/...3fe9d7a1_z.jpg Location Terminal 1, after security, go down to the main floor and take the escalator or lift on the right. The lounge is on the mezzanine overlooking the beautiful terminal 1 of BCN. Opening Hours : 5:00 am – 22:15 pm Entry requirements : usual AF/KL requirements (note that this lounge is open to many airlines). Possibility of paid access for 25 Euros. Priority pass accepted. Food offer Usual snacks but also sandwiches https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5761/...c5b9a596_z.jpg https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5645/...507459d3_z.jpg Drinks offer Soft drinks, wines, liquors https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1541/...086040bf_z.jpg For coffee, I was very pleased to see that Nespresso has invaded the place. If other lounges could do the same… https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1469/...3a10644f_z.jpg https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5812/...df3e264a_z.jpg Services Wifi: yes, but this has always been the weakest point of this lounge. I should say a total shame. Until recently, wifi wasn’t free (quite a unique case for a business lounge in the western world !). Now you have a free 15 min option but it is sponsorized and so you have to endure a short video and some commercials before enjoying your 15 min…unacceptable IMO. Showers: yes Toilets: yes Quiet zone: yes Loungers/sleep area: yes Business area: yes Spa: no TV area: yes Passengers are called: no Information screen: yes Newspapers: yes https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1662/...efc1d45e_z.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1464/...ab3f80b1_z.jpg https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5702/...abe6b7ed_z.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1521/...88c9ba2e_z.jpg https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5749/...7140cbb3_z.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1624/...9d93b74d_z.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1599/...cca1edb4_z.jpg https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5672/...2dd6b137_z.jpg Other information Number of seats: about 100 (my own guess) Level of noise: low Design: very modern, very nice View: overlooking the terminal from a mezzanine, but limited view on apron. Multi floors: no Terrace: no Smoking area: no Direct boarding: no |

@Goldorak - I must have missed the post with the pictures you kindly took at BCN (nice lounge), thanks (oh, hang on, I was busy during Christmas day :D).
FYI - I have updated (just the names) both BHX & WAW: I will shortly post some pictures of the WAW lounge, unless you want to do it yourself after the party in Warsaw... :p G |

WAW | Fantazja Executive Lounge
This lounge replaced the gloomy & shabby Ballada lounge a few months back (I had already posted the news together with some pictures, but they seem to have disappeared - my apologies).
Location After security, straight on the left hand side and walk to the very end alongside the shops/restaurants on both sides. Located just next to gates 36/37 (between 30 seconds-1 minute walk from the gates where AF-KL-AZ normally depart). Opening Hours 5-23 Entry Requirements Sky Team standard; note that several other airlines' customers (non-Sky Team e.g. AY, TK & EK) are also allowed entry based on status/class of travel. Food/Drinks Offer Soup of the day, quiche, decent variety of Polish cold meats & cheese, fish sandwiches, vegetable mix in plastic boxes, fruit, yogurt, choice of different breads, croissants, sweets, 3 choices of fruit juices, local beers (Lech & Tyskie), several other alcoholic beverages (including Polish vodka). Additional Information The lounge is particularly quiet even just before/after midday when several services (AF1147, AY746, KL1364, SU2001 & AZ491) all depart around the same time; there's no view on the apron (the big windows face the road adjacent to the departures level and the bus/train station entrance underneath); no smoking area; very limited choice of newspapers; large seating area (chairs & sofas), including quiet area. http://s19.postimg.cc/nqzte5adf/IMG_20150813_00050.jpg http://s19.postimg.cc/vz1qz529v/IMG_20150813_00052.jpg http://s19.postimg.cc/tgg1yggjn/IMG_20150813_00051.jpg G |

It seems like you're going to have the task of taking some pictures of the seating area (and a closer look to the food & the alcoholic beverages, unless you depart back to Paris with the 19:05 service on the Monday - by that time, ajs123 will have already emptied all the bottles :D).
