Lounge options when not wanting to stay in 2G

My apologies if this is not the most appropriate thread (I just didn't want to start a new one).

I have 3 hours connection at CDG coming up with my onward flight departing from 2G. As far as I read, the lounge at 2G is not really the best so I'm wondering what (or if, I should probably say) other options are available i.e. using a different lounge perhaps at 2E and then going to 2G near the departure time? I'll be arriving from BHX on AF.

Unfortunately, no other option possible for you :(

Thank you, Goldorak (adding to misery, I've just checked my ticket once again and the connection time is, in fact, 4 hours - where's the vomiting emoticon when you need it...).

I'm travelling with work so hopefully... yes! And, hopefully, I will not be able to make my onward connection, meaning that the meeting will have to be cancelled (lounge at 2G+tricky business meeting=I'm not really looking forward to it) :D

Just a little correction to the Wiki: in GRU, it's not an AF lounge, but the "airport VIP lounge". Albeit nothing special, it is rather nice for an airport-operated lounge.

This made me smile. Given how small it is, the concept of a "separate area" is quite funny.

I know one should not look a gift horse in the mouth so I will apologise for my ungratefulness but I do not think that I would share your evaluation of "rather pleasant". I have to say that it feels a little too portakabin-like to me: a small and narrow space (the picture covers more or less the whole lounge) only separated from the rest of the airside area by partitions with no ceiling, with therefore all the ambient noise traveling around.

Oh, and viennoiseries routinely run out in the morning.

Still, it is better than nothing and useful to grab a coffee or a glass of water (and for wifi) although the seating areas in the terminal are more spacious and rarely crowded.

Its brother in the non-Schengen zone (Salon Cézanne), while very far from stellar is significantly better in terms of being calmer, more spacious and more "lounge-like". Presumably this can be used when using AF to North African/Mediterranean destinations (I think there are still a couple of seasonal flights to Algeria/Tunisia)?

Wiki updated. Thanks for the info. Would you mind giving us some more info about this lounge ? ;-)

ICN - Seoul Incheon

Name of the lounge : KAL lounge

A rather disappointing lounge, when you think this is one of the 2 flagship lounges of a quality carrier like KE in their hub of ICN.

Hi,

How did you reach there?

Arrival circuit is separate from departure area where lounges are located.

After passing security in 2E-L you are supposed to walk towards 2F either to take the bus to 2G or to pass immigration. There you are mixed with departing pax coming from 2F. You can then just go up the stairs to the L-lounge

That's indeed physically possible, but lounge staff generally wouldn't let you in (I tried a few years ago :D) - surprising you managed to get in !

Which lounge is used by AF in ZRH? Wiki says "AF lounge", but AF website says "CGS for SkyTeam", and ZRH airport website mentions only "Aspire lounge".

And relatedly - how is the food/drink offer?

Thanks!
