I fail to see why one would find you crazy for this !

From reading the posts on this thread, is seems like the AF product and seat improvements are pretty inconsistent. Is it possible that the "new" Business Class seats will be on MIA-CDG by September - either on purpose or because of a lucky plane swap?

Another SFO-CDG segment in NEV4 ... they just couldn't put the BEST there on the day I needed to fly. At least, on the way back, I got 1A seat in 747 AMS-SFO

I know this is titled 777 but what seats are likely to be on A340 from CDG to SXM and back in November 17?

100% certainty this will be a NEV seat. The A340s won't be refurbished to BEST.

BTW, do we have confirmation now that the 777 refurbishment program is complete? Those 777s that are still with NEV seats will keep them?

I don't think it is the case. But no updated refurbishment plan has been issued so far.

Yes NEV4. A very easy case
A343 are leaving the fleet, so no refurbishment.

Choosing between AMS and CDG to SFO in December (in J). AF still has the NEV4 77W rostered. (Seems odd for a "premium" route?)

Would I be better choosing the KLM route? I'm new to AF/KL.

Thanks!

Maybe consider another airline, one guaranteed to give you lie flat seats.

OTOH, AF may offer better food and alcoholic drinks than other airlines who have lie flats.

The NEV4 seat is not bad at all in term of comfort. Just avoid to be in the middle seat.
You might be surprised of this but SFO is not so much a premium destination, relatively of course. This is true for several EU/US airlines. LAX is usually much more premium, especially for AF.

Hmm, so do all AF flights between LAX and CDG have the BEST seats?

Well indeed. I would be surprised if LA wasn't a more important destination for any airline, with the exception of United. Thanks for the seat tips.
