Nothing has been announced yet besides what is written at the beginning of the thread.
As of now, it is too early to know as the retrofit is being delayed due to quality issues with the new J seat.

Since Jan. 1st SIN and CGK are regularly served with F-GSQB meaning that ship would also be equipped with the new cabins, including P.

FWIW F-GSQH is flying today to DEL featuring onboard filming with Jean Dujardin and Claude Lelouch in the P cabin.

As of Jan. 6th we have :
- AF8/9 (JFK) served by F-GSPG/T/U in J/W/Y
- AF254/9 (SIN and CGK) served by F-GSQB/H in P/J/W/Y
- AF274/193 (HND) served by F-GSPG/T/U/V in J/W/Y
- AF112/117 (PVG) served by F-GSPT in J/W/Y since Jan. 5th

- AF10/11 (JFK) seems late in being served with the new cabins compared to initial schedule (Dec. 22nd).

Also, F-GSPX has served the AF8/9 on Jan. 3rd but that is very unlikely it was equipped with the new cabins since it also flew to PEK, BOS and DLA before/after that date, those destinations not in the current scope of BEST.

It looks like AF69 LAX-CDG is getting the new business class this summer. I didn't think this was scheduled to receive the upgraded cabin this summer.

Good. I'm not surprised to see LAX as a 2nd BEST destination in the US, because it is a very premium heavy route.

Quite a few of us have expressed scepticism about the Quick Change concept, one reason among others being the odd idea of having premium eco stuck between two Y cabins.

I have just come across an article in http://www.businesstravel.fr/air-fra...-new-york.html, where he says the three row of C seats would be turned into premium eco.

Maybe it is a misunderstanding on the journalist's part but if you look at the seat map, it makes more sense.

Remains the issue of the technical hiccups on the way to remove the C seats neatly and replace them with new seats.

I think it is a misunderstanding from the journalist (as usual, all aviation articles are always full of mistakes and approximations). Of course, it would make sense knowing the seat/cabin map, but what AF needs during the summer is more Y seats, not more W seats. Additionally, what makes me think AF intentions for quick change process was indeed to have more Y seats, is some tentative seat maps and F.A. unions documents I found by pure chance on Google trying to find the new "regular" BEST seat map. The unions were expressing their concern for the W service between 2 Y cabins. We'll see...

Well, service differenciators between Y and W are really minimal. AFAIK, same FAs serve both W and Y so disturbance should be minimal for them.
Maybe they will do a COI service on these flights ?

It's all about the W trays being normally 1st out from the trolley and having the Champagne on the trolley then hidden for Y for the "normal" service, while this is changed if Y then W and then Y again.
Also for W pax, it means more traffic through the W cabin (toilets, visiting friends in various parts of the cabin). Also, some Y pax will leave the cabin on arrival before the W pax, etc etc

With a very good luck I will try tonight the new J BEST Cabin on AF 483 from LIM to CDG. Aircraft operating will be F-GSPG.

For sure this is a random flight as normally is served with NEV4 J seats 772 (J/W/Y) I will post my experience and feedback on my arrival to Europe.

Regards!

Thanks, very interesting.

If I understand correctly this sentence "Airbus A380 - Versions 3 puis 4 a/c du 7čme avion" it means that F-HPJA/B/C/D/E/F are currently equipped with NEV3 and that F-HPJG/H/I/J are equipped with NEV4. I makes sense since JF has been delivered in June 2011 whereas JG almost one year later.

But how is it possible to take some much time to upgrade these aircrafts? By 2017 the competition will have set the standards higher for sure.

Because the 777 fleet is having the priority and also I believe because AF finances state do not allow them to go faster

Hi Goldorak,

I was actually referring to all AF ships, notably the 777. I have the feeling that revamping process is extremely long. I agree with the money issue though.
