Just booked Premium Voyageur on AF JFK-CDG

Hi all,

Here from the DL forum. I just booked AF in Y+ JFK-CDG-JFK Dec 10, 12, but can't seem to select my seats. Also cannot find an accurate seatmap on SeatGuru or SeatExpert. AC is a 772 according to AF.com. Is AF in the process of retrofitting these a/c, or do I have to call for a seat assignment?

(For clarification, I booked through AF.us, not DL.com)

Thank you!

Seatguru is completely outdated regarding AF cabin maps for long haul A/C (except A380) because the PV cabin is never mentioned. All 772 and 77W are now equipped with the PV cabin. A332 and 343 fllet retrofitting is on-going. You should be able to select your seat on AF web site (manage my booking)

On AF 772/77W, the PV cabin (and it is separated from both Y and J) consists of rows 22, 23 & 24. The Y+ configuration is 2-4-2, so you get rather more width than in Y (3-4-3) and the shell-seats are quite decent.

Be aware, though, if you like a window seat with a view: all three rows are directly over the wing.

Thank you for the responses!

AFcom is showing only two rows of PV on the seatmap, and shows all as occupied. I'm guessing this is a glitch, as I find a full PV cabin a bit doubtful 3 months out. I will try calling at some point.

Another question, I'm DL Gold (STE) and entered my info on my booking, but will be DL Plat (STE+) by the time I make the trip. When does AF pull FF info from DL? Should I reenter my info after I've made plat? (It's been a while since I've flown AF, and can't remember if STE/STE+ is printed on the BP--for lounge access, possible op-up scenarios, etc).

EDIT: Last question, any tips on seat selection? Do the left/right bulkheads have added or restricted legroom?

Thanks!

Hi

I've also just booked premium economy, GVA-CDG-LAX, and can't book the seating. It appears that it won't be possible to book the seating until 30 hours before the flight.

Another thing I noticed : my booking GVA-CDG shows class W, whereas the CDG-LAX segment is showing class A. Why would they put the premium economy segment on an A code?

Because AF Premium Voyageur cabin offers the following booking classes : W / S / A / E.

When you make DM, go in and remove your DL FF number, save and exit. Re-enter the next day, save and exit. It should pick up the new level. Has worked for me in the past going from silver to gold. Yes, ST or ST+ will be on the boarding pass.

Try picking your seats through the KLM site. There seems to be some glitch with the AF system, and I recently was able to get around this by going through the KLM site.
