How to book Multi-City segments in different classes?

Hi all,

I have always been using Multi-City tool to book flights since my trips are usually complicated. Now I want to book multi-city flights with different classes on each segment to burn some of my SWUs. How can I do that? The multi-city tool only let you choose the class(4 options, Y-Low, Y-Flex, J-Low, J-Flex) at the beginning of the search. Must I call Air Canada to book? Or is there a way to book online?

My trip:
TPE-YVR(Since it is codeshare, there's no point to book on Flex)
YVR-YYZ
YYZ-PVG
(I want to book U fare for the bottom two segments to upgrade)

Thanks!

You would need to call AC or a travel agent to make the booking.

Experiment with a trial booking on ITASOFTWARE.com to ensure that the various booking codes can be combined (not always the case) and provide this info to the CSR when calling.

Why not do TPE-PVG first, then
PVG-YVR-YYZ-PVG in Latitude (or PVG-YYZ-YVR-YYZ-PVG if the days don't work)? It would add a few hours, but worth it to get upgraded across the pacific both ways imho
You would, I believe, still need to call an agent to get YVR-YYZ in T/T+

That will be a good option if I have 3 SWUs, but I have only 2 SWUs from my E package, and it will be used for YVR-YYZ seg and YYZ-PVG seg. Plus, I would like to keep my TPE-YVR flight since I'm a AC Elite and BR Gold(double the priority:p) and a very frequent flyer on this route(6-10 each year). I can say most of the time I can score an upgrade to either Elite Class(Premium Economy) or J when the flight is not too full(ITC, november is cold on this route).

Thanks for the advice and will certainly consider it next time I fly to YVR.

Oh ya I don't have to pay phone reservation fee to book this right?

No, no more fees for booking on the phone.
I'm curious, any tips on how you score the upgrades from BR staff- I've had no luck (but only 0/2), though I've been travelling on busy days. I've been offered to transfer to J on the Air China flight, but it doesn't arrive in time to catch my connection to YYZ (which I booked on separate ticket in L to be sure of upgrade on the redeye :):)

Well, I must say connections in Asia could get you lots of stuff:D. I used to work for Evergreen Group, flying tons of TPE-HKG-TPE flights in J on BR. Knowing some captains and managements helps too I guess. I was sometimes greeted by name at the Check-In counter: "Flying YVR again!"

What I do is divide my YVR trips. half on AC, half on BR. So I get both AC-E(Plus flying YVR-China) and BR-G(Plus flying China-TPE). Show them both at check-in(a greasy move huh), and then I'm one level higher than other BR-G on this route:p. (I have no intention of hitting AC-SE or BR-diamond for my flying routine)

Of course, I wouldn't be able to hit home-runs every time I fly(a third-base to Elite class is nice too:D), but I will do everything to maximize my chance.

Don't know how SEs stand when traveling on this route. Probably second priority behind diamonds(third if you include government officials:rolleyes:).

Be a pop-star in Taiwan works too:D.

Thanks for your help!

I'm not too familiar with the itasoftware.com tool. How can I make sure A and U class can be combined? I will call AC and see what they can offer. If not, I'll find a TA.

Thanks a lot!^
