MONTREAL — Air Canada (TSX:AC.B) pilots are voting for a new association president to replace Capt. Andy Wilson, who has decided to return to flying.
The special election, which ends Monday, will select a new president to serve until Dec. 31, 2010.
An Air Canada pilot since 1979, Wilson was elected to head the association in January 2008.
His decision to step down comes weeks after pilots agreed to a 21-month contract extension and past service pension moratorium. The new president is expected to face a series of challenges as the airline seeks to reduce costs and boost its profitability.
