I can't say that either is my fave, but the pasta tends to be not quite as rubbery IMHO.
Yup that was it, cheese manicotti. Would have been fine had it not been re-heated and pretty dry

On YYZ-YUL yesterday morning, had never seen that version before. Although not a fan of cottage cheese, I much preferred the red goo and "plain" potatoes...

I was always under the impression that North American mainline on non-PLH routes did not overcater. PLH was overcatered by 20%.

A little birdie recently told me all mainline had extras loaded. I'm currently on 569 SFO-YVR, and there are 11 chicken and 6 pasta for the 14 seat cabin.

That's 21.4% more than necessary.

Maybe I was wrong, or maybe this is new. Either way, I'm happy.

What I recall hearing in the past was that flights that are double catered - on specific aircrafts (E90, maybe A319) were usually not overcatered, due to galley space constraints. If that changed, agreed - this is good news

Now, flying Rouge YYZ-YYT earlier this week, someone who had ordered a special meal "just in case" was told that they'd only get a choice if someone does not order a meal as they were catered for the exact # of pax - including the SPML.

Fruit plate, yogourt and (most of the time) a cold croissant. They sometimes warm up the croissants on Airbus equipment but rarely do so on Embraers. Now, throughout October, the 5:20am flight from YOW was sometimes operated by Jazz and there has been a few "catering errors" where the omelette was loaded... no complaints there

Not only from YYZ, also from YVR. They are Hawksworth items so only available departing Canada (I think).

AC 101 YYZ-YVR November 2019

I don't eat the chia appetizer but I ate the mango pieces as the canteloupe and honeydew were unripe and not edible.

"Drink with a View"

"Mid-flight" snack.

"Light pre-arrival" meal/snack

I like that he went for the "Happy Meal".
