AC Jazz fleet reduction?
According to the attached article,
http://finance.sympatico.msn.ca/inve...entid=20935379 AC Jazz may remove up to 10 CRJ 100s from it's fleet and replace them with turboprops, possibly Q400s as well as removing 8 planes from it's fleet altogether. What routes do the 100s typically fly on? I have never been on a Q400. |

Certainly a hopeful note, contained in the financial info released today:
Mr. Randell said during a conference call Wednesday that Jazz will begin renewing part of its fleet in 2011, notably looking at turboprops. Interesting that Jazz is cutting its costs to AC, on a deal Montie's team had just negotiated: The Halifax-based regional carrier said Tuesday night that it is slashing its distributions by 40 per cent and reducing the amount it charges cash-strapped Air Canada. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe...rticle1234915/ |
YYZ-YQT YSJ YFC YYG YQB...all would benefit from the bigger cargo compartment/door available with any Dash-8.

You've flown in a CRJ 100 between YVR and YCD? I thought they only flew DH3s and DH1s on that route?!
I fly YVR-YYF (Penticton) frequently, they use the 100s often. |

The CRJ100s are used interchangeably with the CRJ200s, its hard to tell the difference honestly, I know because of the tail number, and the shape of the reading lights.
Other then that very little difference |

Ah, I see. ^ The original question was: what routes do the CRJ 100's fly on. The DH1's had nothing to do with this, that's why I was confused.

Toronto - Quebec City
Halifax - St Johns What they call Tier 3 services..... According to this thread I guess they eliminated 1 Dash 8-100 already :D: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/air-c...at-expect.html |
Not to nitpick, but jazz does not currently fly from Halifax to St John's,
The CRJs are used pretty much every where Jazz flys, and like I said, it doesnt matter if it is a 100 or a 200, they are used interchangeably, the 200s do have slightly longer range, but not something we have to use that often. As for the D8-100 in YYJ, I have my doubts that it will be written off, a new PW120 and paint job and it'll be back in the fleet. |

Long time listener, first time caller - thanks for all of the advice I've been skimming off of here the past few months.
I flew on a CRJ 100 YQQ-YCC a few years back. |
