So we can all get a handle on how they are going to work in the real world, how much they will cost, et c.

Post flight, date, route, original fare basis (T, T+, Lat, etc), and if known, seat inventory (i.e. J9, C7, Z5, I3). If you do upgrade, please also let us know how many empty J seats there were in the cabin, if any. And if you were considering a certificate upgrade, why or why you didn't opt for the LMU.

It would be helpful if this thread could be limited to "just the facts" and no discussion, which could be posted elsewhere. That should make this thread more useful for everyone.

Should anyone want to discuss LMU's further please post in this thread:

Tango YVR-YOW $748 plus tax. Didn't check what J was at, but I imagine that it was low as the price is outrageous.

Offered 179 from Tango Plus YYZ to DCA. T-24 hours. I don't think so.

$748 plus tax AC189 YOW - YVR from a tango fare. AC needs a reality check. Y looked very full too from the seatmap.

Presumably AC is pursuing this pricing strategy to keep seats open for the Lat flight passers and waitlisted eUgers. I'm sure if the price was $399 there would be more takers.

So, good work AC, upgrades are important part of the loyalty program.

No reality check needed IMHO. This is great! If there's someone who really wants the upgrade he/she can buy it, but not a discount from standard Z/J fares.

That's my point. At that price it would be cheaper to buy a Z fare, get guaranteed J and the status miles to boot. Based on the number of people on this board who appear to have declined LMU offers, I wonder how many actually get accepted?

You should look up fares before making guesses like this..... plus the Z fares YOW-YVR carry adv-pur of anywhere from 14-30 days. The walk up C fare is $2235 ow. The LMU program is very successful

I always note down the all-in price of Z at the time of my booking.

If LMU + what I’ve paid work out to ≥15% cheaper than the all-in price of Z fare at the time of my booking, I’ll consider it to be a good deal.

It ought to 'drop' to $398 tomorrow morning if still available.
