So we can all get a handle on how they are going to work in the real world, how much they will cost, et c.

Post flight, date, route, original fare basis (T, T+, Lat, etc), and if known, seat inventory (i.e. J9, C7, Z5, I3). If you do upgrade, please also let us know how many empty J seats there were in the cabin, if any. And if you were considering a certificate upgrade, why or why you didn't opt for the LMU.

It would be helpful if this thread could be limited to "just the facts" and no discussion, which could be posted elsewhere. That should make this thread more useful for everyone.

Should anyone want to discuss LMU's further please post in this thread:

I agree. This thread has completely lost its way. To be meaningful we need as simple record of date, flight, cost.

declined (are prices for LMUs going up, or is it just me? I remember this route being $399, usually).
Just for comparison as I imagine the algorithms between united and ac to be not too different... LAS to EWR to YYZ. Was offered LMU by united for $299 (LAS to EWR leg)... I almost accepted...

anyone had the experience of the cost going down closer to departure?

Just started check-in for LHR-YYZ and the magic number was £619 (approx $990 CAD)

I declined.

If it were to drop closer to $650 or $700 then I'd say yes.

YYZ- HKG

OLCI T-23 hours, 2 PAX (Tango fare), J - 11

$1298x 2.

Thinking .... hoping that it will go down closer to take off? Any chance?

i'm guessing it's the April 28 AC15 flight and not April 27 as it's left already?

not sure if it'll drop anymore, weekends are more popular and it would be smart of them not to lowball LMUs causing SEs not being able to clear at the gate

not too sure about J 11 either, 11 unselected seats doesn't necessarily mean it's J11

if it's important enough to be in J buy up and you won't have to worry about it

yes, it's Apr 28 not 27. Fixed. Thanks!

I guess that's the going-rate for LMU for this long-haul flight then? thinking hard if I should do it. Want to surprise DH with this but not sure if it's too much money.

It won't go down...
And do not look at the seat map to determine how many seats are available. J=9 means AC is willing to sell at least 9 more seats.

I'm flying YYZ-HKG on the 3rd of May (THU), should I expect ~$1300 for an LMU offer?

Availability in J is currently 8 for May 3. LMU price depends on fare paid apparently.

No more upgrade button for me anymore at OLCI. Do you think it will open up again or can I ask when I am at the gate?
