So we can all get a handle on how they are going to work in the real world, how much they will cost, et c.

Post flight, date, route, original fare basis (T, T+, Lat, etc), and if known, seat inventory (i.e. J9, C7, Z5, I3). If you do upgrade, please also let us know how many empty J seats there were in the cabin, if any. And if you were considering a certificate upgrade, why or why you didn't opt for the LMU.

It would be helpful if this thread could be limited to "just the facts" and no discussion, which could be posted elsewhere. That should make this thread more useful for everyone.

Should anyone want to discuss LMU's further please post in this thread:

YUL-YYZ-MEX

YUL-YYZ 189.00 - Declined (Even if it's a 763 it's only a 50 min flight so not worth it)
YYZ-MEX 249.00 - Accepted (Great deal I think for a 4h35 flight)

Paid Tango+, no status.

Can I check-in at the J-class counters at YUL even if the YUL-YYZ is in Y?

Technically you're on a Y ticket, so no... but you could try anyway.
Santander is online now

Are you sure? I thought the AC website specifically said you´re entitled to all the J benefits at the airport (incl. lounge access) when buying a LMU. (unlike when using e-upgrade credits when you technically wouldn´t get lounge access)

gabdusch was only flying J on the YYZ-MEX segment but Y on the YUL-YYZ segment. gabdusch will be entitled to use the MLL in YYZ but not at YUL.

I agree that the LMU was a good deal as the price difference between T+ and discount Executive First for YYZ-MEX is usually $5~600. It represented a significant discount.

Like he said. But you can always flash your *A silver card and use the J counters.

How does it work with meals? Say I check-in 2 hour before an INTL departure will there be enough time/meals loaded to enjoy I receive a full J meal? Paying $1200 for a 13 hour flight and not having a J meal would be very disappointing and easily make the cost not worth it.

You´ll most likely get a meal, however there´s a good chance you won´t get your 1st (or 2nd) choice. Your boarding pass will likely have a "ML*1" comment on it which means your meal choice is to be taken last.

You will be checked-in to the back rows of J, so when they take your meal choice you will have what is left, but you will have a meal, since they carry extras. But I don't think the meal is my first concern while on a 13hr flight.

Exclamation

If we could please preserve this thread for posting LMU only it will keep the topic on track for those doing research for upcoming flights. Other topics should be debated elsewhere. Thanks.
