So we can all get a handle on how they are going to work in the real world, how much they will cost, et c.

Post flight, date, route, original fare basis (T, T+, Lat, etc), and if known, seat inventory (i.e. J9, C7, Z5, I3). If you do upgrade, please also let us know how many empty J seats there were in the cabin, if any. And if you were considering a certificate upgrade, why or why you didn't opt for the LMU.

It would be helpful if this thread could be limited to "just the facts" and no discussion, which could be posted elsewhere. That should make this thread more useful for everyone.

Should anyone want to discuss LMU's further please post in this thread:

YYZ-NRT

$948

OLCI at T-18 on T+ J9/R1

Accepted as client had agreed to foot the bill for LMU if offered.

A bit of an improvement over earlier in the year but looks like that's as low as it goes and still quite pricey IMO specially as AC Y to NRT is a very decent product overall (both the crew and pax!).

It is expensive, but not too bad for a 13 hour long flight.

I consider the LMU to be a good deal if the price of my original fare (say Tango Plus) + the cost of the LMU is ≤ the price of the discount Executive/Executive First fare at time of my original booking by 10% or more.

In your case, I agree that it's a "good" deal. The fare difference between Tango Plus and discount Executive First for YYZ-NRT is usually around $1,300 each way. You received a $350 discount.

Am I the only one not getting LMU offers anymore? It seems my only option at OLCI is to use my e-upgrade credits.

maybe the system is so SMRT that if you use your eupgrade credits you would have cleared immediately so i didn't offer you an OLCI

great deal for tango considering T+ diff. is ~400 each leg, wonder if a T+ upgrade was the same cost or 400 less

LAS-YYZ on an AE Ticket

$499

declined (are prices for LMUs going up, or is it just me? I remember this route being $399, usually).

You must have made money at the tables. $499 if you came out ahead during your stay, $399 if you're a loser.

I don't think LMUs take original fare into account. I haven't noticed a difference between Aeroplan reward and T+ LMUs at least. This particular one was for my family. If it was me I likely would have paid T+ on this route and played Aerolotto.

$948 for YYZ-NRT but $549 for YWG-YYZ?

How do these prices make ANY sense at all? No wonder this airline is going under.

April 3 YYZ - PVG, from T $1298, J was half empty, also offered at web-checkin for $1500
April 16 PVG - YYZ, from T+ RMB6000 (approx CAD$944), J was half empty

Accepted both. It was totally worth it considering the 13 hour flight.

Question, for these trips do I get status miles based on my original booking (25% for first trip and 100% for return) or the upgraded class (125%)?

welcome to FT!

you get status miles based on your original booking

your first trip should be 50% status for tango international
