So we can all get a handle on how they are going to work in the real world, how much they will cost, et c.

Post flight, date, route, original fare basis (T, T+, Lat, etc), and if known, seat inventory (i.e. J9, C7, Z5, I3). If you do upgrade, please also let us know how many empty J seats there were in the cabin, if any. And if you were considering a certificate upgrade, why or why you didn't opt for the LMU.

It would be helpful if this thread could be limited to "just the facts" and no discussion, which could be posted elsewhere. That should make this thread more useful for everyone.

Should anyone want to discuss LMU's further please post in this thread:

Wow... you guys must have lots of money... I cannot fathom spending $1,500 for a flight. I've been in a pod from YYC-FRA with eUpgrades and absolutely loved it, but I can't justify spending $1,500 on a one way flight regardless of how big the 'discount' is. $1,500 is more than my whole 3 week expenditures in Spain 2 months ago. I'd rather just by another ticket to europe for that money, but that's me, I live in the middle-class.

We're solidly in the middle class but that didn't stop us from spending over $10,000 in Europe on a one-month trip in 2007.

YYZ-SRQ $400.00 , kind of rediculous IMHO.

If $1498.00 is an excellent deal, I cannot recall on which of my trips to SYD in 2011, there was an Aussie who was sitting across from me, who paid $600.00 YVR-SYD.
BTW, he was offered LMU on the last available seat while a SE ended up in the back of the bus.

I am happy to note that AC has raised the cost of LMU's to SYD.

It is a good deal, indeed, but declined because

(1) Had two seats to myself, a mini-executive class so to say (I realize that this is never guaranteed, but the check-in lady told me that it was not exactly a full flight).

(2) AC screwed up my flight on the way to YUL (and messed up hotel accommodations on so many levels that it's not even funny) so I didn't feel like giving them more money.

That's why I make my own (through GDS) and get the money back from Avion.

Feb 28 YYZ-YYC. On-line check in via AC Blackberry app at approx. T-21.

Offered $698+tax(!) Declined.

(On a sidenote was offered YYZ-YYC LMU last August for 299, almost regret turning that one down).
