So we can all get a handle on how they are going to work in the real world, how much they will cost, et c.

Post flight, date, route, original fare basis (T, T+, Lat, etc), and if known, seat inventory (i.e. J9, C7, Z5, I3). If you do upgrade, please also let us know how many empty J seats there were in the cabin, if any. And if you were considering a certificate upgrade, why or why you didn't opt for the LMU.

It would be helpful if this thread could be limited to "just the facts" and no discussion, which could be posted elsewhere. That should make this thread more useful for everyone.

Should anyone want to discuss LMU's further please post in this thread:

As a point of reference....
CO YVR-IAH $140...included lounge access in IAH prior to taking the connecting flight.
Another $150ish for double points...that would count towards status.

YWG-YYZ $249, declined.

This is my first year as a Top Tier (AC*P) and I noticed at check-in that it not only offered me the paid upgrade, it offered me an eupgrade too. (I'm saving my credits, though.)

AC 8110
IAH - YYZ
T-21 OLCI
$269 USD
Accepted
V Fare Class

Accepted - I was the only passenger in the cabin. I know, I know, a lot of $$ for a cold lunch plate but I appreciated the extra room and having the cabin to myself.

Didn't finish OLCI the first time. So the second time around it was offered at the lower price after a few hours.

It's still showing $948 and an extra J seat has appeared making the cabin now J8.

One tidbit that some may already know, when you try to OLCI a locator with more than one pax, you have to select both pax otherwise no LMU will be offered. This is similar to how AC's system treats eUpgrades and locators that have more than one pax: i.e it will only let you upgrade all or none of the pax.

So, if I add a friend to my nominee list, but the booking reference has 3 passengers on it, I cannot eUpgrade the single person that I've added as a nominee?

No you have to call and split the booking so the nominee is on his/her own locator. AC res. may or may not do this if you booked through a TA so beware and do this in advance of the upgrade window.

At that price, I would consider it...and I'm a real tight-wad.
