So we can all get a handle on how they are going to work in the real world, how much they will cost, et c.

Post flight, date, route, original fare basis (T, T+, Lat, etc), and if known, seat inventory (i.e. J9, C7, Z5, I3). If you do upgrade, please also let us know how many empty J seats there were in the cabin, if any. And if you were considering a certificate upgrade, why or why you didn't opt for the LMU.

It would be helpful if this thread could be limited to "just the facts" and no discussion, which could be posted elsewhere. That should make this thread more useful for everyone.

Should anyone want to discuss LMU's further please post in this thread:

It seems the LMUs are now calculated based on the fare difference between the fare purchased and the available fare (possibly only full-fare J right now)

As somebody who doesn´t buy LMUs I like this development!^
SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

You had to do it!!!!! Bunch of IT monkeys are working on changing the pricing algorithm because you are happy . Can't have happy FFs It doesn't fit AP's business model.

@:-) I think new more expensive LMUs are great. ( And it has nothing to do with the possibility that unsold LMUs might turn into seats for upgrades )

Of course I only had AC´s best interest in mind hoping they may be able to become profitable by selling domestic LMUs for >$500 and int´l LMUs for $1k-$1.5k. What else should I have had in mind?

^ Great.

See AP monkeys??? Nothing to change, all is good. Charge more, if needed, for LMUs.

BTW Jasper, I enjoy your posts and have found them helpful. You are one of the good ones ^. You must be the Anti-DYKWIA

Thanks for the kind words!

And yes, of course, I´m an Anti-DYKWIA.*

*as long as I get exactly what I want and when I want it, of course, otherwise I obviously have a right to complain.

I think AC is yield managing the LMUs now..... In the past it was a set rate which then gets reviewed and changed, every period. Now it seems like they review the loads (along with the ecredits) and adjust the fares accordingly.

$1499 is too much.

YYZ-YYC, T+ fare - $598!! Are they mad? Declined.

Paid it at $299. Once paid it at $349. That's the limit though.

I think it must have something to do with what the market will carry. Some of these high LMU's must be selling.
If no-one paid for these perhaps the price would come down?

I got that price too. Must be the YYC market. Frankly I don't mind, I never have paid for LMU. Either I buy T+ or Z.
