So we can all get a handle on how they are going to work in the real world, how much they will cost, et c.

Post flight, date, route, original fare basis (T, T+, Lat, etc), and if known, seat inventory (i.e. J9, C7, Z5, I3). If you do upgrade, please also let us know how many empty J seats there were in the cabin, if any. And if you were considering a certificate upgrade, why or why you didn't opt for the LMU.

It would be helpful if this thread could be limited to "just the facts" and no discussion, which could be posted elsewhere. That should make this thread more useful for everyone.

Should anyone want to discuss LMU's further please post in this thread:

Interestingly I booked these tango fares back in April. I noticed that the fare for 2 people was more than double the fare for one person. So I had my wife go on the laptop at the same time as I was on the desktop, and we simultaneously hit enter to see if we could two of the low fares. It didn't work. She ended up with an error code, and then had to pay the higher fare. So you can't fool the system.

This is likely due to the lower fare bucket having just one seat left. I think it tries to sell you two seats of the same bucket so that one seat would be left to the next guy while you book two of the next type. If you really wanted that lower price, you could make two one-seat purchases, one at the low price, and one in the next higher bucket, although you would then be on two separate reservations.

YOW >> YYZ on 26DEC2013 - $99 plus taxes from a Tango L fare - took it simply on getting a full breakfast on the flight. The LMU didnt even cover the cost increase to a Flex fare(~230 o/w, paid 135 o/w)....good deal i think.

Except you won't be getting a full breakfast on that route anymore. Meals have been enhanced to a snack basket on Rapidair flights. IMO not even worth using eUpgrades on any longer, unless you have a surplus and just want to burn them.

No, they brought back the omelette for breakfast, and some kind of hot snack after 1000.

Providing he isn't already *G, otherwise, it's $100 for an omelette.

I often do single day trips to YYZ and I've purchased 99$ LMUs on the way back to YUL when it's operated by a widebody to get a pod after a long day of work. The 45 min nap is worth that ^

I'd definitely consider it, depending on how I feel. Sometimes, I want J on that route. Other times, I don't care. It all depends on my mood.

YVR-LAS on Aeroplan ticket
408$

Cost of LMU (408$) plus cost of scamcharges on ticket (~160$) is about 568$. Interestingly, that was almost exactly the cost of a Z fare on this route when I booked the ticket. So basically this LMU is really a buy-up to the lowest business fare (minus the status miles that would be accumulated!)
