So we can all get a handle on how they are going to work in the real world, how much they will cost, et c.

Post flight, date, route, original fare basis (T, T+, Lat, etc), and if known, seat inventory (i.e. J9, C7, Z5, I3). If you do upgrade, please also let us know how many empty J seats there were in the cabin, if any. And if you were considering a certificate upgrade, why or why you didn't opt for the LMU.

It would be helpful if this thread could be limited to "just the facts" and no discussion, which could be posted elsewhere. That should make this thread more useful for everyone.

Should anyone want to discuss LMU's further please post in this thread:

AC 586 on Dec.19th (yeg-lax)
OLCI exactly 24hrs before and boarding pass says that we were first to check in.

I can't remember specifically, but it was around $260 per person. Declined as we are flying with another couple.

Yes. It was an e90 and at least 4 j seats were available - if not more.

offered AC29 YYZ-YVR for 3 - 399 each - total 1258 with taxes. Declined. E class Tango tickets.

would have accepted but with a 3 year old and only middle seats available and thus we would be three in a row versus 2 in a row and one across...i have little faith for those in J being willing to move around to accomodate a child and did not need the grief of asking...sad but true....

i must say, flights being empty in J for the holidays is making it a smoking deal for LMU's...if one purchased the tix at the sale about month ago, the fare was 185 so total would have been 584 (plus tax), so a savings of about 215 over the sale price of 799 +8 to the day...

flight was showing 11 empty J seats.

flight has about 80 empty Y seats also....

YYZ-YHZ on a Tango (!) G fare class ticket, $249 - Declined.

AC is desperate and broke, shilling the services (MLL, J seat) formerly reserved for their most important customers to bare bones Tangoers.

The cramped J cabin on a E90 for a 1.5 hr flight is not worth it.

I realised I value the LMUs at $100/per hour. I paid around $700 for YYZ-LHR last summer. The total time in seat, from pre-boarding to disembarking, is about 7 hours.
Similarily I would indeed pay $400-500 for a YYZ-YVR flight (5 hr flight)

I would put my price at $75/hour - $300 YYZ - YVR with margin for error depending on time of day (work / sleep / eat) that could take it up to $100.

Anyone have any Olympic YYZ - YVR experience, still holding out for my flight on 2/23 & 24 from YYZ.

[QUOTE=Tangoer;13380449]I realised I value the LMUs at $100/per hour.

So YVR-HKG would be offered for $1300-1400....

If you have bought a Tango Plus fare ticket, it's still cheaper than buying Latitude (if offered) to use a SWU, and significantly cheaper than buying Executive First Lowest or Flexible.

Random date of March 24, 2010:
Tango Plus $743
Latitude fare $2,948
Executive First Lowest $4,440
Executive First Flexible $5,423

SFO-YYZ is like what, 5 1/2 hours? I guess my price range for a LMU is us$63/hr?

..

someone should keep track of all our LMUs, including date (high/low season), fare class, ticket price, LMU price, and flight time. i wonder what interesting statistics will the numbers reveal to us?

YYZ-YVR
Feb. 18, AC 029

LMU offered at online check in: $349 + tax, $366 total
Booked Tango plus fare originally.

Wasn't offered the upgrade when I did OLCI 24 hours prior, but it came up 2 hours later. This is a terrific deal for me since I have no status/certificates. Got the Tango plus fare with the 15% aeroplan partner discount code and only paid $217 for that leg. $366 later and I'm up front. Purposely booked this flight since it's going on to China (larger executive cabin so more chance of getting a seat), plus with it not being just a domestic flight there's less of a chance for an equipment change which might take the pods away.
