So we can all get a handle on how they are going to work in the real world, how much they will cost, et c.

Post flight, date, route, original fare basis (T, T+, Lat, etc), and if known, seat inventory (i.e. J9, C7, Z5, I3). If you do upgrade, please also let us know how many empty J seats there were in the cabin, if any. And if you were considering a certificate upgrade, why or why you didn't opt for the LMU.

It would be helpful if this thread could be limited to "just the facts" and no discussion, which could be posted elsewhere. That should make this thread more useful for everyone.

Should anyone want to discuss LMU's further please post in this thread:

May 7, IAH-YYC, UA1780, from crappy economy fare, $119 US.

I'm only posting this here because I usually fly AC and I think it is a relevant data point that UA's cost to upgrade a 4.5 hour flight is way below AC.

I fly American to LAX instead of Air Canada because of this. Upgrade for under $100 is normal on this route with American.

Haven't been keeping up w LMU prices but I found this hard to believe ... friend of mine was on HKGYYZ AC16. His ticket was booked on AVION points.
At checkin he inquired about UG and was told $1,500.
He jumped on it.
Seems far too low, but he talked about the TG lounge in HKG that he, otherwise, would not have access to.
$100/hr from Y > Intl J is unreal.

This is not unsurprising, especially if travelling midweek and offpeak. Just flew it two weeks ago and J cabin was only 70% full. Last time I LMUd on this route I paid something similar.
