Routes that do not have fuel surcharges (YQ) when operated by carriers that normally charge YQ:
1. USA-Germany-Other country. If only the Germany-other country segment is on LH it does not have YQ. E.g. DFW-FRA-BLR with TATL on UA and FRA-BLR on LH.
2. USA-Canada-Other country. The USA-Canada segment on AC does not have YQ if the Canada-Other country segment is operated by a carrier that does not charge YQ. E.g. DFW-YYZ-ADD.

Thanks, so basically AP website is not showing me the complete fees. What you have pointed out makes sense. I didn't think a schedule change would drop my fees by that much. Although I have heard connection times at some airports can change some of your fees.

Except, with Aeroplan, good luck. Might entail taking them to court... And who knows what they could do to your account subsequently.
Once I got a reward or more likely I made changes to a reward over the phone. Somehow they did not charge me something. Next time I got a reward the missing charge appeared and I could not get the reward without paying it. Which I suspect is also quite illegal.

It's a short n' sweet flight- 18h & 55m from Toon town. Nice sweet spot with the 'surcharges.' Not the greatest deal, but for a simple one-way earn n' burn not bad, considering everything else.
