AC8970 had to return to STL due to not working nose gear indicator today (Feb. 16). At least that was what the captain said. It wasn't all that scary, although I have to admit that I started to wonder what's going on when we weren't climbing after take-off, but rather circling around at low altitude. When the crew lowered the gear again, it was clear that we are not flying to YYZ today. The landing was uneventful, however it was funny to watch the firetrucks following us almost to the gate.
It was snowing in the area today and there was a bit of snow on the tarmac. The tug driver wasn't able to push us back on the slowly freezing slush. He was yanking us back and forth for an hour until we could actually start taxiing. I'm wondering if this could have done some damage to the nose gear...

Looks like Southern Florida is a little bit of a Cluster today. A friend on AC1002 YUL-FLL is sitting in NAS because of a diversion. Looks like it didn't even attempt to land.

The passenger next to them filled up the little doggie bag. Looking at the speed graph, I can guess why.

FR24 playback.

The speed slows when the plane is southbound in the hold north of FLL.
Strong jetstream from the south west.
Plane is probably holding at a steady 230kts.

tracon thanks for the followup. Always appreciate your input

Plane left NAS @ 18:10 landed FLL at 19:13. Didn't get to a gate before 21:30ish. One of those days when it takes 12+ hours to fly YUL-FLL...

Talk about a shock. On AC610 today someone in a pilots uniform fainted and landed in the aisle. Looks like he’ll be ok and he was deadheading not flying, but it was certainly startling.

I was on an Austrian Air flight into YYZ from VIE that took a direct hit in June 2015, while we were about 1km from touchdown. It was pretty wild.

What do the PAX experience (if anything) when the plane gets struck?

Not much different from a lighting strike landing somewhere near you. A very bright flash followed by a very loud noise.
