I saw the post on Facebook from my friend who work for AC.
One guy holds the ladder.

Second guy climbs up and pushes the plane up and out of the mud.

Third guy says French equivalent of "yup".

So how do they get that unstuck?
Can't throw a chain around the gear and drag it out, would cause damage.
Can't power it out.
Crane/jacks and block it underneath?
Tug on the nose gear as normal and drag it?

How many beers did the PF have to buy the rest of the crew?

tracon.
Is 7700 used for all emergencies other than comms and hijack?
Would 7700 be used for medical emergencies as well, or only emergencies that in someway effect airframe and airworthiness?

My ground school was a very long time ago, PPL only and heaviest was a C206, unless you count AC sims at YVR with a bunch of FT'ers many years ago

7500 Hijack.
7600 Comm failure
7700 Emergency

Not every flight with an emergency squawks 7700.
In fact most don't.

Per the aviation subreddit it was C-FIUV flying AC2, they did a hard landing inspection and it is back in the air flying AC1 YYZ-HND right now.

It looked to me like the port wingtip came within inches of contact. Couldnít see for sure because of the passing van, but I guess if itís back in the air it didnít touch, but awfully close.

Iíve never seen an aircraft with an emergency use 7700. And Iíve worked a couple dozen serious emergencies and countless minor ones.

It happens all the time, often enough that FR24 has an article specifically about it: https://www.flightradar24.com/blog/s...s-perspective/

Yikes to that 777 landing. I'm glad no injuries were reported and kudos to the flight crew for bringing it to an uneventful conclusion. I'm sure the passengers will remember that landing for a while.

Iím aware it happens, just that Iíve never seen it in my professional capacity as an air traffic controller on my radar screen at work. And I work thousands of planes a day.
