Does this flight count towards status?
 
Hi all!

I'm flying to Dubai on Dec24/08, returning Jan1/09. Do you know if this flight counts towards 2008 status mile accumulation, or does it count towards 2009?

I would think one way counts in 08 and the return in 09, but I'm no expert.

Wouldn't the Dec 24 flight count in 2008 and the Jan 1 flight count in 2009? Seems like the logical answer.

AFAIK..

If Local Departure Time < = December 31 2008 23:59:59 = 2008 Qualification

If Local Departure Time > = January 1 2009 00:00:00 = 2009 Qualification

Exactly. I flew back from DEL when AC used to fly the route via LHR and we left at 4am January 1st so the flight counted as the first one for the new year.
