New Priority Security announced at YYZ.

Start enjoying life in the fast lane
Dear Why Fly,
As you are a valued Super Elite customer, Air Canada is always looking for ways to refine your travel experience, starting with your time at the airport. That’s why we’re pleased to announce the introduction and extension of services designed to enhance your travel convenience even further.
Previously offered on international flights, Priority Boarding is now available for travel within Canada and to the U.S. This exclusive privilege minimizes your waiting time at the airport by letting you board first, or at your leisure.

Priority Security Clearance lanes have also recently been introduced in Toronto. The new Pearson Priority - Air Canada Priority Lanes are now available and fully operational. These lanes are designed to expedite your entry to airport security screening zones via a clearly indicated, separate pre-board access lane, allowing you to arrive at your boarding gate more quickly. Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver and Edmonton also have Priority Security Clearance lanes, with more coming soon to other Canadian airports.

Also, when you travel in Executive Class or Executive First®, you'll enjoy this privilege on flights from the U.S. and other international airports.

Why wait in line at the airport? Start enjoying life in the fast lane today with Air Canada's Priority Boarding and Security Clearance services.

That's a nice feature, though there rarely are any substantial lineups at T1 (or, for that matter, at T3), compared to the cattle lines at many US airports.

I agree that lineups at T1 are not as bad as many US airports.

Priority line in YUL is always close when I go through so it has never really helped me out.

As for priority boarding, we get that now anyway right? you can see all the E and SE's waiting in front of the gate to be the first one on the plane.

Same email to Elites. But also extends international Priority Boarding privilege to Es as well as SEs and ExecFirst passengers, and adds domestic flights to this enhanced preboarding.

My favourite use of the YUL "priority" line is showing my SE card with a Porter BP. Never had an issue. Not much opp to do that at T1 unfortunately!

Found it useful at YVR..so I'm glad we have it at YYZ...

...those few extra minutes could mean an extra bevvie in the MLL :D

I *think* YYZ express also applies to Plat Aero AX Cardholders. Think I saw something in my mail recently but didn't read it as I avoid Pearson.
Can anyone confirm / correct?

Pearson is easy now, avoid Vancouver:eek:

Did that flying out of Ottawa on *shutter* WestJet.

Worked as planned!

I should do a 1-2 year search on YYZ vs YVR, what a difference time makes...

Are the weird hours at YUL 7 days a week, or only weekdays? I've never notice the priority lane open on the weekend.

=aw

The lane opens at 8am. Maybe you were there before it opens?

ALW Jul 3, 2008 3:22 pm

Not likely! :)

Usually 3:30 or 4:30 on a Sunday. The former is out of hours and the latter is in, but never noticed. Is there any indication? I know where "mobile users" and "special services" are but never noticed them looking open. The lines seem to move fairly well in any case.

For anyone who's seen these at YYZ (transborder or domestic) is there a sign saying "priority security this way" or is it hidden under something else (like YUL)?

Thanks!
=aw

Previously you could only take advantage of pre-boarding. If you missed the tiny pre-boarding window you had to go to the back of the line just like everyone else. Now, there is a separate line that essentially lets you cut in at any time. Gives you time for an extra drink in the lounge, esp. on the wide-bodies.
