Same Day Latitude Stopover?

I am flying from LAS to YEG on a Latitude ticket early one morning with a quick plane change in YVR. I would like to stop for 10 hours in YVR, but the price has increased substancially since I booked the ticket. When I land in Vancouver will they let me make a same day change that will let me catch a flight to YEG if available later that night?

Thanks

I believe that the maximum permitted connection domestically is 4 hours, anything over that is considered a stopover, which you would have to buy another ticket. Unless you are on some types of INTL Y/M/U fares which permit unlimited stopovers in canada.

Wrong s9.

Maximum permitted connection time on a domestic or transborder ticket is four hours. Anything more and it's considered a stopover (ie. your ticket will be priced as LAS-YVR + YVR-YEG, not LAS-YEG).

If you were on an international ticket, you are allowed up to 24 hours to make your connection.

So to go back to OP's original question same day changes do not validate stopovers either.

Only way around this is a forced overnight, but many TAs, CSRs and AC booking engine struggle with the concept.

I consider it all the same, sorry I should have been more clear.

But forced overnight only works if you arrive in the cnx city after the last flight of the day has left.

You may consider it all the same. But that's you. In reality, it isn't! Note especially that for international fares, there is no restriction based on class of service.

Stop giving out inacurrate and misleading information.

All INTL fares allow unlimited stopovers in Canada? My last U fare I had to pay an exta 100 dollars for a 2nd stopover in Canada. Only time I got unlimited stopovers was with a M3AC fare to HNL.

Talking about the restriction on connections: < 24 hour connection on international tickets is valid for all fare classes.

Agreed.

But many CSR/TA/aircanada.com's don't understand it even then: "it's not *forced*, you should have taken an earlier flight!"
