Just got an e-mail from Aeroplan re CIBC promo. Fine print says PC does not qualify.
Quote: (iv) While the account from which you will transfer PATs and the Old Account can be two different accounts, neither can be a CIBC or CIBC affiliate account (e.g., President's Choice FinancialTM1 accounts are excluded); they must also be traditional branch-based personal bank accounts from which CIBC Express Switch can transfer PATs and account balances. |
TD told me ING doesn't qualify because they don't consider it their competition.
More to the point, I think, they don't offer chequing accounts (and the iPod offer is specific that you have to close a Personal Chequing Account). So the same would apply for Amex Bank of Canada. PC Financial would probably qualify because it's a chequing account and because it's not owned/run by TD. Although the Shuffle is easy to get (close and transfer a PCA and set up 2 auto-payments) I'm not going to bother. In fact the internal cheatsheet I saw says that they would recognize two existing auto-payments from a TD account! =aw |
Has anyone tried icici Bank (www.icicibank.ca)? They're offering a no-fee PCA for 4.5% which is better than ING's 4.25% and PCFinancial's 4.0%.
They also offer no-fee business accounts which are paying 4.0% right now, better than ING at 3.5% (ignoring the 4.25% rate at ING until Aug 31/07). =aw |
Anyone know...
..how long u need to keep the account open to qualify...couldnt find it in T&C's, and one poster says 3 months another says 4...please help.
