Pearson Terminal 3 - Priority Security Line

Tomorrow I am flying America West as it was cheaper to buy a 1st class ticket on HP than a Lat fair on AC for YYZ-SJC. I thought it was a good deal considering that I get a 50% COS bonus for AP status miles.

I have not flown out of Terminal 3 in several years.

I have two questions I am hoping someone can answer...

1) Do they still have the First/Business priority security line after US customs in T3?

2) For a 10:30 flight to the US, with no checked baggage what time should I plan to be at the airport for check in? By the way HP does not support web check in in Canada.

Any help would be appreciated.

Jim

Until Nexus arrives, there is NO priority BEFORE US INS and Customs

and...

The Priority Line is sign posted for crew and wheelchairs

but...

Late morning midweek, the place is quiet. Last week I arrived at T3 at 11:00am and was the first person in line at both US and security lines.

Total time from arrival at AA First Class check in to Admirals Club was 12 minutes. That said, only you can decide if you want to challenge the airline's official "requirements" for check-in times.

Thank you "HereNow..." for your reply. I will give it 90 minutes just to be sure. By the way, does anyone know when Nexus will be active at YYZ and will it be tied into CANPASS?

The US Airways non-stop to PHX leaves at a great time because there are no big lineups at the US Customs in T3 between 9:00-9:30am. If you check-in around 9:15am, that should give you plenty of time for customs pre-clearance & security screening. I know this because I've taken this flight several times.

Jim007,

Guess it is a bit too late now but there are a bank of computers that are provided by the GTAA close to the walkway from the Sheraton Gateway hotel. These computers allow you to check yourself in instead of going to the check in counter and since you have no baggage you will burn through there. The participating airlines are US Airways, WestJet and a few others.

Very quick and convenient. I used them about a month back and I was through well before many people who came a long time before me. They are pale green computers that are like the ones Air Canada has. Hope this also helps.

Cheers.

I don't think those machines can be used for the US non-stops to PHX and LAS because they are on a different reservations system than the other US Airways flights.
