EZE (Buenos Aires) to SCL (Santiago, Chile) Flight on AC

I know that AC flies this flight, is it possible to ticket just this segment from Buenos Aires? I'm living here and would love to get the extra miles in my USAirways account. I can't seem to get anything online to price it, but does anyone know if a travel agent can actually sell it?

aircanada.ca will price it. Remember the flight only operates Fri, Sun and Wed. I did a dummy booking. $492 base fare, taxes & surcharges were another 50% of that!

Base Fare 492.90
NavCan, Fuel, and other Surcharges 105.10
Argentina Security Tax 7.80
Argentina Intl. Ticket Tax 29.90
Chilean Intl. Arpt. Facility Charge 93.00
Immigration tax 31.00

Total 759.70

The wbsite shows EZE/SCL as Flight 093 so it must be bookable.

To add: are there any 5th freedom issues such as picking up pax in a foreign country for outward journeys?

And that's how much AC is when the lowest fare is available. ~ CAD 271.92 including taxes in V class.

Compared to other local carriers such as Lan Chile or Aerolineas Argentina, Air Canada is a welcome choice on this route as the other local carriers always seem to be on strike I found out the hard-way last year.

Most local Business PAX in Chile and Argentina prefer AC on this route as it's a reliable flight.

Chris, there is a Air Canada city ticket office in Buenos Aires next to The
Sheraton Hotel.

Two years ago it used to be a lower fare (under $200) and booked in H class for upgrading with a SWU. However, AC's own website always showed a higher fare than expedia or travelocity. Haven't checked to see if this is the case currently.

I like that you have to pay the NavCan fee for a flight that goes nowhere near Canadian airspace.

Be careful with Air France they dont seem to realize you have to land on the FIRST half of a runway...

that's a low blow.. one could say... to be careful with AC the pilot might get locked out of the cock-pit.

I believe AC has 5th freedom rights on this route, both directions of course.

The times I have been down there it seems to be doing well.

That is correct. AC has full fifth freedoms on that route as stated in the Argentinian and Chilean air bilats.

I have seen lower fares when I subscribed to some South American newsletters.

Two pieces of advice:
1. Ask the AC office if they have consolidators; they may not tell you, but ask.
2. Check with the TA that serves students down then. You could catch a break even though you aren't one [I guess].

But do some shopping around. See if you can find someone who offers special fares to Canada on AC. Chances are that the office has an AC contract. Then see what they can do. Also ask if AC is offering packages to SCL. If you don't need anything there, see how it prices if you book the package with a minimum category car as a throwaway. It may or may not undercut the airfare.

After writing all this stuff, I checked the fares in Galileo using Oct 1 as departure date. The fares are very low.

I flew this last year. The flight was fine - although it operated late. I did an immediate turn around at EZE, but as I arrived behind the AF there was a huge queue and I was literally the last person to board the flight.
