Upgrade using *A miles?

Flying YYZ-PEK on a Q fare, would I be able to possibly upgrade into C/J by using *A miles? Couldn't find the info on Aeroplan's website... Thanks

I think you can upgrade *A flights with UA miles but the costs are very high so better off to redeem *A award ticket in J

I spoke to a UA reservations agent the other day to get seats on some code-share flights. Just talking and the agent told me that (hopefully) by the end of Sept. a new system will be in place for *A travellers to use their points from their *A carrier to upgrade on UA flights. The agent mentioned that this will only be available by the Web, no specific details yet. Anyone else heard something about this?
