wierd email from ac.com
MR xxxxxx,
We look forward to welcoming you onboard flight AC868 departing at 9:00. Your booking reference number is xxxxxx. Get your boarding pass in advance and save time at the airport. You can now use Web Check-in up to 24 hours prior to departure every time you travel. Print your boarding pass, select your seat, stand-by for an earlier flight or upgrades if eligible. On the surface the email seems normal enough... the odd thing is it was sent at 12:42pm eastern, 3hrs and 40min after I had already checked in and printed my boarding pass. Considering this is the 5th flight that I've taken since they changed the online check-in to 24hrs, I dont see the point of the email. Maybe someone in AC IT should re-evaluate their priorities. Anyone else get an email like this after they have already completed online check-in? |
I have.... guess that they do a datapull of all the people flying the next day with email addresses and then "schedule" the emails to be sent for the next day flights at a certain time. Because it is not "real-time" email that is 24 hours before each specific flight, that can happen inside the 24 hour period depending on the time the email is scheduled versus your flight time...
