You might be ok, but I wouldn't risk it. If you do a quick mileage run before Oct 15, you'll get early recognition.

Do you think air canada will grant me SE status, or will I have to make a final run to get there?
There is a reasonably good chance that they'll give it to you, but you'll sure be kicking yourself in January if they give you what you've earned - Elite. Not worth the risk IMHO.

Can you change a leg to pick-up the extra 525 miles? AC may well round you up to SE but you can't count on it.

Okay thanks for the input... I'll find a way to pick up the extra miles. I actually might be able to take the advice to change a leg on my next trip to put me over the 100k

Quick question from those who might know

The E bonus is only 50% miles, the SE is 100%.. if you hit early recognition, do your 50% bonus increase to 100%, assuming u choose that perk?

So if you fly 100k miles (assume all AC), you would get 50k more bonus miles just for hitting SE?

No. You would get the 100% bonus for all subsequent flights taken as an SE.

So, does anything novel happen if you're already Elite and gain Elite status for the following year before the end of October? For example, do they send any more certificates out, etc., for reaching the Elite status anew before the end of October?

Cheers,

Nothing in this thread applies to the (normal) situation where you cross the qualifying threshold for the status you already have.

SE lite

I'm closing in on 100k but will not get it done by the OCT 15th deadline.

While I understand I won't get a package and extra certs I can get by wihtout them

However I'd really like to get access to IKK right away. Can anyone comment about how soon after crossing 100k post-Oct 15h you are able to access IKK (if at all)

Thanks.

There is no SE lite. If you don't hit 100K by Oct 15th not only won't they send you a package and extra certs, it means that you don't get SE status before early next year! So you won't be able to make use of IKK when you cross the 100K line somewhen after Oct 15th.

No SE = No IKK

Never heard of "administered level".

Where did this come from and when?

I am going to be at 94 segments by weekend,is there an "administered" level based on segments as well?(not that it matters to me personally)

Not so. Seems it's 92, at least, according to this:

As I already posted in the other thread, that info is false. Only way to qualify for 2009 status at the moment is by flying the required miles or segments.
