AC - MX end of partnership as of March 31st
 
I have called today to make a reservation and was informed that as of March 31st, MX will not be partner anymore with AC for codeshares and redemption.

I agree with the strategy as Mexicana, with LRTC, is on an aggressive growth strategy and competing very well in US markets (some times cheaper fairs using Mexicana metal with booking on AA.com). I know Mexicana is trying to sell themselves to investors and this might be a medium-term strategy to join the one-world?
On the flip side, hopefully there will be more competition with AC and Mexicana as some flights overlap each other. I travel often to Mexico, but with no direct flights to MTY I am forced to book on AA for schedule, and I've heard rumors that AC may begin a new YYZ-MTY route in the next year or two. Again, more competition = better service = better prices.

I'm very interested to see what happens.
