Again, a SE for years who decides to travel for leisure on AC metal and wants to upgrade from an L fare should be lower than a P on a Y fare? So to you, it's the specific flight that only matters and not the amount of $$$ over time? You really need to recalibrate your way of thinking, dude. Well, at least you stick to your guns time and time again which I give you credit for... I could probably find about twenty separate threads where you say the same darn thing over and over again (and sound just as silly each time you do it).

I ask you, who does AC currently value more in this case???????? Lets see, that P can upgrade when they book. The SE can book 7 days in advance, so what it comes down to is that if anything, the P will be in J, and the SE sitting in Y if they cannot upgrade at their window or at the gate, meanwhile the P has upgraded when they bought the ticket. If they valued the SE more, they would let the SE book the upgrade ahead of the P, but in this specific case they do not. The difference between an L fare and a Y fare on a lot of routes is 3 times as well, so I really don't blame them for placing a higher value on the P in this specific case. Don't worry, if you're both on the same fare type, you're valued more.

Exactly. This thread generated lots of genuine goodwill from the FT community, including PMs offering help with no expectation of anything in return. These offers were particularly appreciated given that the trip in question was taken for very difficult family circumstances. Sadly the thread has now been hijacked by the same old unwinnable argument that a certain member puts forward time and time again simply to provoke others...

No we're sure it won't but you should also realize this place isn't about you and your quest to be E. You don't do any research on your own and constantly ask questions you could answer yourself if you did the work. Its time to grow up and either be a full participant or take the heat for being a lazy AH.
