That sounds even better but it must have been a programming reason as to why they display it that way, or it could just be for aesthetic reasons.

UI reasons (easier to remember 3x3 digits than 9?), not programming reasons.

The aircanada.com site is best. I don't know if it tabs automatically to the password, but it does give you the option of remembering your AE#, which does work most of the time. There's also the popup login, that I hate, and the regular login (directly to my bookings page, for example) which is just fine by me.

In Netscape I have always been jumped to the next box, no need to tab or "enter". That is when I am not using a Mac...

I do sometimes wonder, however, that those of you brought up on "speed dial" and precoded phone numbers that require just a single number or other "code" would have managed in the days when we actually had to "dial" seven digits to get a local phone number, and 10 get do long distance?!

Coffee, no, I am still drinking Ferrari's English tea...

Well, when I use Netscape 6 (too lazy to upgrade), I have to tab.

This used to be a nuisance for me as well until I started using a program to manage/remember passwords. The program I use (Roboform) does a great job of all logins/passwords, including the AE and AC sites and has no spyware. It also is great for keeping personal information in for easy form filling. Highly recommend it but I know there are other good ones out there as well.

I sure as hell do not miss those days

Hallelujah! It's now there! :)
I hated the 3 boxes--esp. elsewhere where one must hit tab!

 I still have the three boxes.

djjaguar64 Aug 30, 2005 2:43 pm

I see 3 boxes and no tab needed.

How about just having ONE box...like everyone else.

It is ONE number not three

I really hate that feature. That's why I use FireFox which doesn't ask that annoying option whenever you log in.

Three things that I have always had memorized.

My social insurance number because it was my military number until it was declared against the privacy act.

Then I had to memorize my new military identification number.

On retirement, the most important number: Aeroplan xxx xxx xxx :)

Illustrates where my true priorities lie. :D

YOWkid Aug 30, 2005 4:40 pm

You mean it's not your visa number? :p

I have SIN, my government employee numbers, passport, all credit and bank card numbers, library card, university student numbers (though useless), loyalty card numbers, a bunch of phone numbers, AP number, a ton of AC flight numbers, and other FF numbers.

Oh, and pi to 22 decimal digits. :D
