ML lounge at LAX

First time at LAX in perhaps five years. Currently in the MLL, which I don't recall having visited before. On the negative side, it's about as decrepit as the airport as a whole.

But yes, free Datavalet wireless is working, whidch is nice.

On the other hand, I was reallly surprised to notice an employee of the St5arbucks downstairs sitting at one of the computer booths (empty one, mind you, although I suspect there was an ethernet connection available for laptops) and enjoying her lunch. Big sign on the door "no food or drinks allowed" nonetheless. She was there talking to some of the lounge personnel, whom she clearly was a friend of.

I was just there last week. The only computer working (I didn't have my laptop) was occupied by the lounge receptionist.

Only been in there once, this January on my return from HNL. Being the morning winter, it was dark and dreary which made the lounge experience that much more crappy.

Free WiFi is the only saving grace :D

It would be nice if AC and NZ got together to combine their lounges, which are next to each other. LAX MLL also gets busy with the Virgin flights using this lounge.

Why are the virgin flights using the lounge? Are they *A?

Nope not *A, AC just has the space to rent out to them. Just as AC will use other non *A space such as Delta in SFO.

Wow, I didn't know the LAX MLL has agreements with Virgin and Starbucks... :D

The LAX MLL is decrepit, so is/was the NZ KCL. The KCL is undergoing a major renovation. The old KCL had bathrooms in the lounge, which is more than can be said for the MLL.
The free wifi in the MLL is nice, I have always found the staff there to be pleasant.

Is the LAX MLL doorbell chime still obnoxiously loud?

Lornag Jul 13, 2005 1:31 pm

It has to be so the receptionist at the computer near the kitchen can hear it.
