Newbie needs a definition . . .

Have run a search and come up empty - what does "Instant KK" mean?

On a related note, is there a thread on here somewhere with definitions of frequently used abbreviations?

As another newbie, I received this answer from our esteemed Shareholder by PM earlier today:

As for the term itself, Instant KK is used to refer to the SuperElite benefit of being able to confirm an award seat in either class of service on any AC flight that has not been deemed "sold out". Unlike Avenue awards available to all, there is no addition cost in miles to claim such an award. Nor does the award have to be in the name of the SE member.

KK is the airline shorthand for "confirmed", though airlines also use HK as "holds confirmed" and if you look at one of the boxes on the old style tickets, after the flight and date, you will see either KK or HK. Otherwise it may show WL if you have been "wait listed" for a segment, or RQ "on request" if the space has not been confirmed at the time of booking, but has been paid for.

These are actually somewhat arcane terms today and go back to the early days of airline res when teletype messages were exchanged between airlines to confirm space on one another's flights. And also used by travel agents in those days when tickets had to be issued before all confirmations came in from various airlines.

Trust this helps.

I hope he doesn't mind me posting it here. I'm just trying to save him some keystrokes.

Think of it as AC converting a revenue seat into an award seat for the SE member.

In the menu bar, you can select the glossary from the Quick Links section.

Let us know if you find a definition for what a beach digit is.
