AC may stick with interm paint scheme

Air Canada after looking at the costs of the "Pearl Blue" paint on the
livery have decided to only change the tails to the new look maple leaf.
The fusulage will remain white with red titles. Only 15 planes so far have
recived the new paint. I was told that was it as the cost was to high. So
the blue is out and white is in.

Good choice.

That blue looked like it belonged in the 70's, perhaps on a Shaggin' Wagon

This is typical of AC lets call the fares "Fun Fare".... oops someone already has that name... let spend millions to change it.
2. lets paint the planes.... oops its not what we wanted. lets spend millions to go back to white
3. lets put new seats in the 345's and don't do any consumer testing, oops they suck throw them out and buy new ones???

So far, there is no confirmation of this, just someone posting a rumour and others quoting the rumours amongst AC staff. In the last 2 days, I've heard that the old colours will stay, only the tail will be changed, the new colours will go ahead, and the new body colour has been toned down to a whiter blue. Take your pick.

I think this has been explained (at least once).

The white body/new tail is, as described, an interim scheme. The tail motif is a decal. Aircraft will be painted blue/green as they come up for normally scheduled repaints. Other than the first couple for publicity purposes it really does not cost anything more to change paint schemes over a 4 or 5 year period.

While there are examples* of airlines reneging on a scheme change, AC will not be one of them.

* The infamous British Airways 'world tails'
* The second Delta repaint just to p!ss off the previous CEO
* Air India

Awesome choice AC! The new tail is awesome but the fuselage is DISCUSTING. I wouldn't want to point to a green plane and say that represents my country. ^ ^

Couple of things I heard, not sure of vercity.
The new "paint" is actually a decal, which has to be completely replaced, rather "touched up" if damaged.
Rampies are complaining of loss of depth perception while approaching aircraft, on a sunny day, with heavy machinery. This takes us back to the decal damage rumour.

Is this substantiated, or just your usual whining?

My first guess would be that the metal that already received the "pearl blue" treatment, will remain so until maintenance-dictated repainting.

Oh dear, let's try again.

The tail motif is a decal, everything else is paint. Whether or not ramp workers are damaging the tail , AC has NO PLANS to ditch the new scheme. This is a false rumour, probably started by some wishful-thinking plane spotter or such.
