Whats the issue on the 747? The plane just can't be trimmed enough to compensate? Hydraulic control issues? Inadequate electric power?

I won't start a new thread and I'll just reuse this one as it's about BDL, although my next question is way OT:

Is there anything interesting I can do during the day in the New Haven/Hartford area of Connecticut?
