DXB Help

I am going to DXB in May and I am having trouble finding the best route. There is a flight through FRA, which is $1300 in April at $4500 in May. Are there any other *A routings? Austrian through VIE, any others?

I lived in DXB last year for a while. Flights can be really cheap or insanely expesive. There is a UA/Emirates RTW deal thats not bad. As far as Star Alliance goes, I think you've got LH, Austrian, Thai and Singapore. I believe Singapore flies from Cairo to DXB so that may be an idea.

Another option is fly to London and then onwards to DXB

It is 250 pounds return from LhR in May. that is a great deal.

www.expedia.co.uk and then check on the airlines website to see what they offer

There are no ?250 fares from LHR on *A carriers.

Mtacchi,
I looked at Cairo, but SIA is probably too much.

I am kicking myself, because Austrian was flying LHR-VIE for 400 CDN, a month ago.

I just flew through DXB a couple of days ago. The * prices were high. The best I got was AC to Munich and EK to DXB. The DXB flight was much cheaper from MUC than LHR by about a factor of 2. Emirates was a good airline to fly with.

Bencd, the fares are non Star fares, I apologise. If you do want to save some money I guess these fares are great, but if you would prefer Star flights the fares seem higher.

Here is a great fare with an alliance partner.
Star Alliance Austrian Airlines. Now you have to make your way to London.

The dates that I had selcted were in May.

From LHR
To DXB

Fare 240.00 GBP Taxes approx. & depending on routing.* 51.70 GBP
Ticket Service Charge 0.00 GBP
Total price 291.70 GBP
Rebooking non flexible, Min.Stay 7 Days, Max.Stay 3 Months

DXB on the cheap(er)

I was looking to book my wife from YYZ - DXB and prices were insanely expensive (~$4500) when routed YYZ to DXB. By splitting in to two itineraries (YYZ- FRA and FRA - DXB), I got the cost down to around $2,000.

If you want really cheap, try Travelocity.ca - they had flights on Aeroflot via Moscow for just over $1,000 Cdn.

Also look at Emirates out of JFK if you can get there cheap - it's a non-stop flight.

BA is flying from YYZ, through London, which is my fallback at 1200, but Aeroflot was there indeed, I just was not so familar with their service.

I really wish I could capitalize on the 12K miles.

Due to the nature of my business, I fly a lot to/thru Dubai. Your best bet is to get a ticket from a consolidator. AC/EK (YYZ-LHR-DXB) is the most popular route. The fares are around 1600 off peak, and around 1800 peak IIRC. Contact any travel agent who specializes in Asia travel, and you should be fine.

I think that SQ has ok fares from YVR (I'm assuming you're in ONT) and then hop a tango fare to YVR.

just an idea

SQ's thing is it's often cheaper to book online. FYI

You might also look at fares to Abu Dhabi which from what I'm told by someone who lives there that they can be quite good to/from Europe.

Need cheap fare - YYZ to DXB in Aug

Need some help... first time I am flying to DXB. Checking fares for Aug is expensive  . I thought no one goes to DXB in the summer time  . Any suggestions on cheap fares / routes? I would prefer a *A, but then cost is important also.

Regards,

Random dates a week apart in August about CAD $1,600 all in on AC/VS via LHR (slightly cheaper if booked as BMI codeshare operated by AC). CAD $1,800 on AC/EK outbound via LHR and LX/AC inbound via ZRH.

Dubai? Who'da thunk it?

Odd thread to bring such longlost posters back out of the woodwork!
