what the ..

I just got an email from Rupert Duchesne and Montie Brewer congratulating me for achieving Prestige status for 2005. Thanks guys.. I always knew you cared.

Problem is .. I've done about 130k miles this year.

has the bar for Prestige been raised higher, or are Aeroplan staff spending too much time at the bar ?

ROFLMAO. :D

Maybe yyznomad gave them some of his drugs last night...

Seriously though, that looks really really really bad.

just received same email as karachi, same problem as flown 140,000 with ac this year

ps been lurking awhile but found this too funny/sad not to share...

mtacchi Nov 30, 2004 12:04 pm

Too funny, these clowns should write a book on how to piss off customers...I mean they are so inventive..who would have thought of sending their best customers, SE's. letters welcome them to prestige.

EDITED:as Elite I received,

Just got my email...

Dear MR XXX,

We take great pleasure in announcing that you have qualified for 2005 Air Canada Elite® status. Starting March 1, 2005, you can enjoy some of the finest travel benefits and privileges that Elite status has to offer.

That's nice - I passed 35,000 miles in March.

As I currently sit at about 90,000 miles suspect that the level will not be driving dropping from 100K.

Lucky me, I just got the same email again...

YOWser Nov 30, 2004 12:11 pm

Yeah, I passed 105K status miles (and promptly stopped flying AC on long-hauls) back in October and I also just got the "Dear Elite" letter for 2005

I had a feeling this was more of a bug in their system than personal attack for not flying AC metal any more this year, so I'm glad I checked here first. At least they didn't send me a "Dear Prestige letter" :D

I wonder what kind of compensation they're going to offer us for this latest screw-up?

luxury Nov 30, 2004 12:14 pm

I wonder if us Prestiges might get welcomed as, and into, SuperElite? ^ :D :D ^

YOWkid Nov 30, 2004 12:17 pm

How does AC get away with this? Or rather, how do individual employees get away with such a screw up? I'm not saying they should be disciplined or reprimended or anything like that (a bit extreme as everyone makes mistakes from time to time); but that being said, aren't such communications checked and double checked before they are sent so that mistakes are caught and none are made in the final product?

Or maybe I'm too naive?...

drwoodsy Nov 30, 2004 12:20 pm

It is pretty poor isn't it. I just got the same email congratulating me on getting Prestige status for 2005. Sham eI am over 40k status miles and passed the P threshold in Feb!!!

Simply pathetic........... :td:

stinger Nov 30, 2004 12:26 pm

I've only had SE status for three days and I have already lost it

Must have been those damn donuts last week ;) Parnel was Right :D

CPwingwalker Nov 30, 2004 12:26 pm

Definitely AC at its finest

 Yes, I had that momentary ...what the @$**! then of course realized that it's AC so what could I expect anyways. Kind soul that I am I forwarded the message to the SE email address. Oddly, when the forwarded message attached itself to my new note the correct copy indicating that I was Super Elite appears! Royal screw-up here -- but at least the planes still fly!

Shareholder Nov 30, 2004 12:27 pm

Well, I haven't received my notification yet, but I did receive a snail mail today containing the latest AIR CANADA ENTERPRISES Quarterly Financial Report. Of course, I don't own shares in this new company as my shares vanished in the ashes of the old AIR CANADA INC. [Though I did sell them and financed my last TANGO ticket between YYZ and YEG!] AC does have the knack to piss off former shareholders too...

yycguy2 Nov 30, 2004 12:27 pm

What a coincidence. Just as I read this thread I hear the familiar chime notifying me I have new email. It was my email congratulating me on achieving Presitige for the year. I have over 175K QMiles and 130+ segments for the year. :td:

And just having typed the above paragraph I got a second email informing me of my Elite status for 2005. :td: :td:

This would be a good topic for when RD comes on FT for his chat: What are you going to do around quality control for your website and marketing programs for 2005 RD?
